I don't care for any of the new models this year

A lot of expectation........I don't desire any of them.

It looks like an attempt to make some hard seller (expensive) models more accessible.
Sky-dweller
Sea-dweller (a toned down DSSD) (a response to those who want a bigger Sub)
DJ in steel

I can appreciate the lower price but apart from 43mm SD is not much excitement in these new models.

Rolex promises nothing. Expectation and anticipation are built artificially here and in other places in the internet with 'educated' guesses and photoshop. Rolex has a plan and progresses at its own pace, without the directive to please each and every one of us. Every year can't be a ceramic SS Daytona and redone explorer. IMO the skydweller will end up a success even though lots think it should only be in PM (an annual calendar for $14K!? Are you kidding me? And it's a Rolex!). The new SD is also very cool especially with the upgraded movement, I'm on the waiting list for one.

Following this trend of the "stainlessation" of the pm models, you would expect that, wouldn't you?

But, I think the DD is one model that would stay pm forever.

There is no hate.
I was simply saying that I am not interested in buying any of these models.

I also agree that not every year releases can be as exciting for everyone. In fact, I don't even think that Rolex should release new models every year.

True, most ppl don't care.
But I don't think you got the point. It's about discussing what we like or not and why? (It's a forum)

Rolex does care about what ppl say, it's called market research and surveying. It translates in realesing models that are gonna sell.
Hence, that's you have a cheaper Sky-dweller this year.

You make this sound like a bad thing, not a smart business move that I would hope most of us here would make in the same circumstances. We can't all be trust fund puppies who can ignore market conditions as Daddy will never fire us.

Not at all. I just said it as it looks.
It is not bad. Rolex is responding to market demands. See later post.

Personally, I don't find anything exciting this year.

You'll need to swap out the Day wheel. Do they come in Swedish?

However, I do salute the new Cellini moonphase.

A pure dress watch with a nice complication. I guess I'll wait until next year and get the SS version.

PS: what I would have loved to see is improved power reserve movements.
60-80 hrs would have been so good.

How dare you imply Rolex is practicing stainlessization in the Cellini range.

I thought the icon gave away the sarcasm.

Although, following the trend....you never know.

Well, if I was interested in buying a new model (or models) every time Basel happened, I would be in some serious trouble.

I have spent more on Rolex than all other brands put together; but I am unconvinced by their current course. It all seems a bit overblown and 'showy'. The two exceptions, for me, are the 41mm Datejust, and the lovely Moon phase Cellini. Both good additions to the catalogue.

I'm very happy with the option of WG/SS DJ41, silver, fluted on jubilee.
Just got make mind mind up between this or the YG/SS DJ41, silver, fluted on oyster, or maybe the bluesy.
