I personally do not have a problem with it. I buy several watches that I am luke warm about just to stay on the top of the list for the ones I really want.

Time to branch out. You should have plenty of mojo with the AD after getting all those watches. If not I would look somewhere else.

I live in the Dallas area and, during my search for a SS Daytona, was ALLOWED to be placed on a few waiting lists in spite of my never having purchased a watch from a given AD. I, too, received the old 'If you buy two other Rolexes, then a Daytona can be yours at retail'...gee, really? THANKS! Fortunately, I never succumbed to this and continued to look. After maybe 2 months, I stumbled on an AD with a black dial M who offered it to me at MSRP with no purchase history with them...they were polite and professional to boot! What a rare treat... It's just really ridiculous. As we all know, SS Daytonas are becoming more and more common. ADs are getting them and putting them in their vaults to be used as leverage for increased sales. Be patient, or hell, buy one on the grey market (for about the same price at this point) but don't get bullied by ADs...just walk away in these scenarios and remind them that the customer is king.

Funny stuff...this is funnier.
Early last year my parents was at a diamond store, my dad knew i wanted a Daytona badly so he ask the store manager if he know anyone has one. Less than 24 hrs later, I received the call from the store manager, he has a D series SS blk dial Daytona (unworn), $12,995.00. on $7900.00 mrsp |

Agreed. Sure beats the "sure I'll put you on my list if I feel like it" deal. I was offered a piggyback SS Daytona when shopping around last year with the condition of a smaller discount on a watch I was pricing.

The whole Daytona thing is starting to annoy the $h1t outta me.
I would love a white faced Ss Cos but I cannot be bothered with all the waiting list, buy this or that crap!!!!!! In fairness, right now, in today's economy I don't have the money for one anyway and if I did I would be my fave Rolex...the GMT Pepsi!!!!!! A man can dream.... J |

Let me get this straight. If you spend $10,000+ with this jeweler, he will give you the privilege of spending another $10,000, or full retail price for what you really want. Anyone that finds that as perfectly reasonable is drinking too much of the Kool-aid. Personally, I would hate to feel that desperate to do business with any company that would pull those kind of shenanigans.
Boy, reading these posts makes me thankful that the Daytona has never done anything for me. |

Nope, it is fresh, pure, one hundred percent, unadulterated, BS just as it comes from the nether regions of a 1600 pound bull. This is a small movement by the way!
