Should i try and have the R fixed? how does this small damage effect the value?

Leave it, a touch up will never match... just my opinion..

Touch up may match when its freshly done, but as the dial ages the touch up wont change with the rest of the dial and will stick out like a sore thumb

Very magnified, perhaps. But, looking at a well-done repair that small with bare eyes and not magnified, you will not be able to see the touch-up. I'm looking at the R on my 5512 right now and can barely make out that line in the R.

I wouldn't touch it. I doubt it would even be visible without magnification.

Springer would you get this dial or keep looking? I'm restoring my fathers watch and I never intend to sell. I've been looking off and on for a few years and the perfect one at a reasonable price never seems to come up.

I'm still looking for the perfect period correct dial. I've found a few but ask way to much for them.

There's a big step up in price between very good condition and perfect condition. If the price is right, I'd say this could be very good. As noted, I'd be surprised if this is visible without magnification once in a case. Otherwise be prepared to pay top dollar for the perfect one.

What do you think is a reasonable price to pay for one in near perfect condition? There hasn't been anything on the RF in a long time. EBay has dials in very poor condition and they are asking 1500.00 to 2000.00.
