FS: Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 Pre-Moon w/ DON bezel and Tropical Dial

I’m pleased to offer this beautiful Omega Speedmaster 145.022-69 with tropical dial and 861 movement. Case is in excellent condition and does not appear to have been polished. Dot over 90 bezel is in very good condition, with a small flake at 140. Original bracelet is in great shape for its age, marked No. 12 with endlinks marked 47. Hippocampus caseback engraving is still fairly pronounced. 2911XXXX serial #.

The stepped dial has faded over the years, and varies depending on the light. In certain lights it will appear black to deep brown, in other lights it will appear a rich chocolate color, sometimes with a bit of a sparkle to it. I’ve done my best to photograph the watch in a variety of lights that best represent the dial’s range. The hands and lume have aged evenly to a cream/yellow.

Service history is unknown. I sent it to LA Watchworks in February to have the one o’clock lughole repaired, as it had worn a bit over the years. They did a flawless job, they did not polish the case, and they pressure tested it prior to return. I will be happy to include this invoice.

The watch winds smoothly and crisply, and keeps excellent time. Chronograph functions as it should, and the retentive/obsessive among us should know that the chrono hand resets just a hair to the left of the 12 o’clock marker. Barely noticeable, but I know how some of us can be.
