Need help to authenticate and evaluate 6609

Hey gang,

I'm negotiating this TOG. May I ask for your help to decide whether it's a legit and worthy example.

For me all seems to be OK, but I'm a layman at this stage of my Rolex adventure.

Thanks in advance!

What concerns me is whats going on with the dial below the hand stack. Is that a big hole in the center of the dial? The hands dont look correct either. Something is way off. That bezel looks funny too.

Ah now I understand why it's so rare in the seller's opinion, because it's a franken?

Thank you for drawing my attention to these otherwise screaming red flags

Just found another one! This looks way better. Only thing I doesn't like is the gasket channel of the case. What do you guys think, what's that. It seems like material is missing from the case, like something ate it out

I'm no watchmaker but I'd be concerned about the pitting around the mid-case.

Sorry guys, this one is a 16253 ... I just didn't want to create a separate thread, of course if it's expected I'll do so.

Thanks!

The first one is poorly put together and has terminal corrosion. The second one has a little more corrosion than I would like but certainly serviceable. Unless the price is great I would pass.

Thanks Richard! I think I'm gonna pass, too much hassle in my opinion and I'd also would have to pay customs tax which is quite high already.
