Well...INCOMING!!!

Never really thought I needed another Rolex after I got my Hulk. I mean, I still believe it to be the greatest modern reference (though another one has recently piqued my interest, more on that later). And then TRF started making me think about certain things again...

I think I may have hinted at getting this one multiple times here on the forums. I'm just kind of surprised that I decided to buy another Rolex so soon after my first (bought the Hulk beginning of January). The cycle is pretty much complete now, though. Though, like I said, another reference has recently piqued my interest but I certainly don't need much else!

Guess what's in the box!!

Also, try and guess my new Rolex target! Going to be waiting a while before getting the next one though (hopefully)!

Same here Brian, I have no memory, so I'll say Daytona too. But BLNR and LVc is the pair du jour.

I'm guessing you got a black dial Daytona C, and on the list for a 126600.

Looking forward to see whats in the box!

While I have been looking at the white dial Daytona as I just love the racing in Monaco look and feel of them, it is in fact not a Daytona! I think the reference that I'm referring to (see what I did there) might be a little bit more polarizing around here and not as universally adored.

Also included is a picture of my current watches that cost me some money. I am a simple man...

I'll say BLNR or maybe even a Bluesy ?
Either of those 2 would be a nice companion...
Congrats on whatever it may be ...

Did you know that 1) this is a Rolex forum, and 2) if you don't like a particular thread you don't have to read it?

So I was able to find a NOS 16610 M serial in Germany during a very short stay for a very good price. The watch was originally bought in Poland and sat in a safe until the man died and his wife sold the watch to the pawn shop I frequented! Or so the story goes!

I'm going to be doing a mini review side by side with the old and the new, now that I have both. I just love subs so much. But the next one I'm looking at is not a sub...

Congrats, love the 16610
I have a M too, it's one of the references that has the serial both between the lugs and on the rehaut

Outstanding job, classic, I've loved mine for the 15 years I've been privileged to own it.

And don't baby the thing; wear the hell out of it.

Honestly, it wears so different than the SubC it's unreal. I don't believe the 16610 bracelet is made of 904L steel (correct me if I'm wrong) but it has a certain old school sturdiness that I am quickly falling in love with.

Don't believe the watch has been serviced ever but it is keeping time 2 seconds fast which I am just amazed with. On the first day that I wore it, it gained 3 minutes in 10 hours! I was so worried! But I guess it was catching up on lost time since not having been worn for almost a decade!

Another interesting difference is that the cyclops on the 16610 doesn't seem to have AR coating on it which I was not aware of before buying.

On another note, I don't know if the lust for my next modern reference is just a passing curiosity or if I'm serious about getting it yet. The life of a WIS is so complicated; buy a watch, then add one to the list.
