Kayaks: Any Other Enthusiasts Here?
We enjoy exploring local streams, rivers and lakes by kayak. Today, we kayaked down the Pelican River where it runs past the lot we purchased for our new home. Any other TRF members enjoy kayaking? I'd like to see photos of your kayaks and your explorations.

I'm not a kayaker but a neighbor down the street is really into this activity. He has a couple of Klepper folding/expedition kayaks and he's been all over the Pacific NW and Canada in those things. I believe they are designed and manufactured in West Germany.
The kayak comes packed inside several large nylon/canvas bags and you have to assemble a wooden frame and then attach the outer shell. They're pretty expensive from what I understand but ruggedly built. It looks like the kind of kayak one would use on an extensive exploration of a river or tributary where there might be some land travel involved/required as well. |

I haven't been out in a long time, but used to really enjoy sea-kayaking / camping. I have a 14' Perception and a 17' Necky.
