I know Omega and Patek once made pocket watches. Did Rolex?

They did, for example reference numbers 3068 and 2226 from the 1930's. And reference 4262 was a world time pocket chronometer from the 1940's. Some good looking pocket watches!

The first Rolex to have a centre seconds hand was a pocket watch for nurses, as I recall reading. I think that was back in the 1920s. The current Cellinis don't seem to have a seconds hand.

My first watch purchase was an Omega pocket watch for $50. My dad returned it to the store because I was supposed to be saving for college. I was working 4 hours after school, all day Saturday and Sunday, studying, and making all As. I thought I earned the watch. I still think about it.

Although some of the vintage Rolex pocket watch movements were made by Rolex/Aegler most of the Aegler ones were of unconventional design based on the duo-dial type watch. Most of the Rolex pocket watch movements were made by a third party like the Cortebert movement factory or from Revue-Thommen factory in Waldenburg, Switzerland plus a few others..Ebauche movements the R.W.C then added some of the finishing like geneva stripes Rolex branding themselves. And cases whether SS, gold or silver were made mostly by the Dennison Watch Case Company.
