How flashy are diamond hour indices?

I have my heart set on a 116710blnr, however, I am fascinated by the Datejust 41 ref 126334 with the diamond indices. Since it already has the fluted bezel, do the diamond markers really make it that much more flashy?

Well.....That just depends on what you want to hear. There 2 totally different watches and one with a totally different function. I mean the Blnr is probably one of the most versatile watches, but what do you really want?

Do you think you'll use the function of the blnr? It definitely retains its value over the DJ.

It comes down to what your looking for in the watch

I'm not one to wear two-tone or diamond watches, but I must say that when my AD had one of these in stock, I was almost moved to buy it, so I think it all depends on you and your personal taste.

If it works for you and fits the occasion, I think a watch with diamond indices is okay for those willing to shell out the money.

It will flash, especially when light hits the Gold Fluted Bezel & Diamonds. Even in a dark setting, once light hits it, they do their magic. It's really cool, but it's not for everyone.

Personally, I love it!

The fluted bezel will out-sparkle the diamonds.

I purchased an OEM diamond bezel and and OEM diamond indices dial for my wife's ladies date just. It looks pretty flashy, especially the bezel in the sun, the dial, not so much. But Diamonds are a girl's best friend, but not necessarily a boy's.

I like the diamonds on the dial, not a fan of diamond bezels. I prefer the diamond dials on most watches, however you pay a high premium for them. Would go for the factory diamonds if you are looking for better resale value. Not too fond of aftermarket dials.

Chaps

Whether you like it or not, a man wearing any make of watch with diamond indices is going to appear as nouveau riche.

Nothing wrong with making your own money instead of having it inherited
The craftsmanship of cutting diamonds and how these are fitted on a dial goes very well together with a Rolex imho

No.

Diamonds look great on a dial. No one but the wearer will even notice. If you like it, go for it.

in my humble opinion, i will say flashy, especially with the fluted bezel and white gold? However i can't stand gold or anything flashy so my opinion doesn't really matter :-)

It also comes down to how comfortable you are with it and the company you keep.

its not ok to have two-tone or sport watches with diamonds. I do think diamonds are prettier on white gold, platinum or my wife wrist. If it is your only men watch you have than I would not recommend diamonds. I think any submariner or yacht-master should not have diamonds. It is like trying to put a basket ball court, water fall, swimming room and a 80 inch TV in a 10x10 room for a 80x40 lot McMansion.

I'm not a fan, but there are certain references that look better with diamonds than others. The Platinum Daytona for example.

This is about as well as you can do diamonds on a Rolex in good taste IMO

I think it looks best because

A. the white diamonds contrast well with the deep blue dial
B. the smooth bezel makes the diamonds not add too much, a fluted bezel alone is flashy enough
c. the baguette diamonds look very much like white stick index

I personally think the dj41 looks great with diamonds. The Rolex watches that I think looks great with diamond markers are: the dj41, day date especially the dd40, and platona.
