Platona vs steel Daytona 116500

Has anyone got a picture of a platona & 116500 side by side? Would love to see the difference in lugs and case size, in white metal

It's hard to tell from the photos with my eyes. How would you characterize the visual differences between the platinum and steel parts?

The lugs look thicker on the platinum case, to my eyes.

The difference to me can really be seen around the side of the bezel. In platinum, it extends beyond the bezel a bit on the left (9 o'clock). In SS, the bezel extends beyond the SS.

Same situation at 3 o'clock.

I'm not saying it's a big difference, but that is where I see it the most.

The biggest difference is the left side and right side lugs on the Platona are equal. On the SS the right side only are smaller. Causes it to sit farther up your wrist, which is nice for shirt cuffs and being discreet.

For those with both: if you could ONLY keep one, would it be a 116506 or 116500?

506 is very special on the wrist. 506 trumps black no doubt. I'm waiting on white and then revisiting which are the keepers. So an incomplete at this point. Hard to see the ss topping the blue beauty

Too much money for a modern Rolex that platinum one plus odd ball colors. Patek 5980r rose gold time.

I have more but doesn't look like I loaded into Photobucket, but here is one.

I went with the 116500 as it was what I wanted to wear more when in mood for a Daytona. Couldn't justify the money in 116506 at that point.

Lugs are thicker and contoured towards the bottom of the Platinum 116506 Daytona

I don't have the 116500, but do have the 116520 (white) and have to say Platona all day every day.
