Yes or No: 16700 GMT with-FADED-PEPSI-BEZEL

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy the following watch from a guy in Europa.
Can you give me some advice on it?

It comes with papers and box. It is a U-serie and comes with a black bezel.
I already saw that the bracelet doesn't match and is from a datejust. This doesnt bother me.

Also do you have any tips for doing business abroad?
The person doenst have Paypall but is able to send it via UPS/DHL.

What is the market price for this piece?
Thanks again for the help.

Why do you think the bracelet comes from a DJ? Where is the black bezel, every picture shows a faded Pepsi bezel?

Nice watch, with a great insert and fat case. What's the asking price? I love this GMT reference, and assuming everything checks out, I'd say a full set with the original tritium dial/hands would be in the $7K range, maybe a little more if it had the correct bracelet. I have a similar-looking 16700, W-serial.

Ok, I should have looked at the photos more closely, now I see the extra black bezel that it comes with. I agree with swish, it looks very nice and the full set is a nice bonus. The bracelet could be original if it's a 62510H with 50 stamped last link and 502B end links.

I may be reading between the lines too much but remember to always buy the seller. Make sure the other party is who they say they are, this is not too rare a reference and can likely be sourced somewhere near you where you can hold the watch in your hand...

Just a pity the dial and hands haven't develop patina yet. Overall, the watch looks great, especially the nicely faded bezel insert!

Ok, i had small doubts about the seller who sended me a pictures of his and his wife's pasport and bankaccount to show trustworthyness. So i suggested that i would fly in to italy to check the watch and pay him on the spot in cash. Tickets are 175€ so worth the investment as there was enough margin between the avg market price and agreed sales price. He didnt responded to my question in his reply so again thanks for the 'buy the seller' tip and experienced it myself with a good ending.
Thanks trf!

Indeed we cannot be complacent against fraud. Despite majority of sellers are doing a honest business, we should always do our homework and never let our guard down. There will always be another watch down the road!

X2. There are many scams being perpetrated out there. Be careful friends.
