how to tell if anniversary is real
evening everyone,
any advice on how to tell a true 16610 anniversary from one with a simple green insert? Thanks. |

Larry, is there a 16610V model stamp between the lugs?
EDIT: I just found a couple anniversary 16610LV Subs here on TRF and the lug stamping is 16610T, which is the same as found on non-anniversary Subs. So, in answer to your question Justin regarding our conversation today, I would suspect that if someone happened upon a green bezel insert, an LV dial and LV hand set, they could create an "anniversary LV" Sub.

As Larry mentioned the earlier ones with papers will have it noted as 16610LV, possibly along with the model hang tag.
The later ones with plastic warranty cards will have it noted as 16610LV on the card (my non-rehault Z has it marked on the card and the model number hang tag). Last resort ROLEX should be able to confirm, if you have the serial number (later models have the serial on the rehault at 6 0'clock as well as the card) |

To a purist a true 50th anniversary is F serial 2004, flat 4 lime and the works.
If one is found with papers purchased from late 2003, with green Rolex tissue paper, that is like striking gold. I personally like the engraved rehaut of later years, with several differences along the way. Otherwise any 16610LV is the 50th anniversary model, with maxi dial and hands.

To some the 'F' is the one.
But I'm happy with my 'M'. Any excuse for a pix.

Hi All,
Hi All, I have an M series LV submariner M serial with engraved Rehault. USA sold. Can the warranty card have only 16610V not 16610 LV as mine and be correct? Regards, M |

The warranty card does not specify LV only the hang tag does. It says 16610V so yes yours is fine and correct.

Have to say this model is the new object of my desire. Love the green bezel and black face combination. For me it's better than the LVc
