New 16550 to me, bracelet question
All,
I just pulled the trigger on a 9mil serial 16550, white dial, first dabble into anything that might be considered vintage. I am wondering what the correct bracelet, end link, and clasp should be? I am fairly certain it is not the original bracelet, which I knew going in. I just want to confirm and then potentially seek a period correct one. I will have the watch in hand tomorrow and will post pics! Appreciate yalls help on this! Thanks James

Hi James,
Congrats on the 16550, great watch. Rolex was less strict in years past, and it wasn't uncommon for dealers to give buyers a choice of bracelet. Typically you see them with 78360 or 93150 bracelets, and either 501B or 593 endlinks. Any combo therein is acceptable in my opinion. As far as clasp, I think you'd be looking at I, J, K, L and M. All the best, and keep us posted. Oh yeah, post pics too please! -GW |
