Suggestion needed for Explorer 1

Hi, I am a new forum member. I wanted to ask for your recommendations as to wether or not to trade in an Omega Seamaster Bond and an Omega Planet Ocean, both with the 2500c movement. I have the opportunity to switch them at my local Rolex AD with probably some from my part. I also own a SubC ND and an Omega Speedmaster Patch limited series. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance, Victor.

Losing money on a watch trade with an AD is inevitable. I would say go for it anyway and an Explorer 1, SubC and Speedy are a very very solid collection.

No you would need a decent chunk of money coming your way along with the Exp in my opinion.

I would sell it, not trade it in with a dealer. Being patient pays, every time I am not patient I regret it. This is when it comes to anything.

Hi Victor P1941

Would you care to listen to some free advice from an amateur raw rookie on the forum? Ignore my post if it doesnt appeal to you but if you're interested, here's the deal about your Omega watches.I assume both your watches were manufactured somewhere between 2002 and 2009

#DO NOT trade in or sell off your SMP 300m (not yet anyway) if it fulfills ANY of following criterias

Selected SMP 300 m James Bond 007 Movies only
» with the correct reference originally worn by Pierce Brosnan in GoldenEye (the only Quartz) and I hope it's not the Seamaster from Casino Royale worn by Daniel Craig

Non Bond SMP 300
» Ref 2254.50
» Ref 2255.80
» Ref 2533.50 WG bezel America's Cup official watch connected to Sir Peter Blake
»Ref 2264.50 black wavy dial 'The last Quartz' on a Speedy bracelet (1610/930) instead of the Bond bracelet (1503/825)

#DONT EVER sell your PO 600 Cal 2500C if it's a limited edition
-LE xxxx/1948
-Red Seamaster font not orange
-black liquid metal bezel not blue
-steel not titanium
-Applied numerals

Each of these LE LM PO 600 Cal 2500 babies in today's market is valued at USD8.5-9K

If both 2500 Calibres DO NOT fulfill the criterias listed, then GET RID of the Watches!

It's a bummer trading two for one, but depending on the references, omegas just don't retain their value. Depending on actual references I probably would trade these two off. To me they are very entry level luxury, and in my opinion the bond marketing is gimmicky.
Good luck!

Get the best numbers possible on the trade and go for it.
