SD43 Prices are dropping fast on secondary market
Hey guys,
Just FYI, I talked to David SW today and he said very recently SD43 prices have been dropping pretty fast on the grey/secondary market. So even if you cannot get one at your AD, they should be close to retail soon with Trusted Sellers or TRF members selling theirs. From what I am gathering it should be very soon. I guess the SD43's are starting to really come in to the ADs. So if you are on a list, it may not be that much longer waiting. Daytona C's on the other hand are still strong with no sign of falling. So that is still an issue. I am sure many here are aware of this but for those who are not, I thought I would just share that patience will pay off soon on the SD43. On another note, I am looking forward to getting my BLRO today in Orlando. ![]() ![]() |

I think once prices settle we will see a wave of incomings here by those with larger wrists. It's about damn time.

Although, is the watch being readily available always a good thing?

This one will settle down to below MSRP pretty quickly. The "have to have it right this second" guys got their watches. The dealers got their pound of flesh. Now the watch will sell on its merits.

Everyone keeps talking about SD43 prices, IMO the real watch we should be talking about is the 116600. A 3 year production run and limited popularity spells a great potential for future appreciation.

I don't regret getting mine at MSRP $12456 after tax, and is happy everyone who wants one can get theirs soon with no markup.
This is expected for a watch that fits less wrists and is 40% more expensive than the Sub-C. The average joe would just go for the 116610 (and even buy a OP for the lady and still be under), while most aficionados prefer the 5-serial or even the previous 116600. Truly a great watch, just in an awkward position. ![]() |

Wonder if same will be seen in U.K.... we seem to have very limited supply as viewed as being "cheap" to buy here.

Photobucket no longer allows hot linking, so you image is just a lame Photobucket message: https://finance.yahoo.com/news/big-l...191026772.html I think the new SD is the perfect watch for someone with a large wrist who wants a fairly practical sports watch. I don't have a large wrist and prefer the classic 16600. |

I don't recall the seadweller being a particular difficult watch to get before, so I can't see this reference being any different in months to come.
I was the second person to get it from my AD but they do have 30 on their list, with a couple of calls a day enquiring about it. |

Not to mention the "Rolex investors", as the price drops the investors will back out instead of taking a loss, the demand of the watch would drop even further, I have no doubt many on the list are investors/flippers

Yes, these will go down while the SD4k 40mm increases.
I'm not sure the market is as strong as expected or portrayed in all honesty. Judging by the availability of other large models Rolex has produced in the past, the initial demand is largely driven by a certain market niche, that is finite in capacity/saturation. Once we move past those with the specific need i.e. a large Submariner looking watch, I don't see the demand being sustainable, especially at current pricing. |

This watch was never expected to be a rare one. It's like any other Sub / Sea-Dweller, to be honest.
The initial launch was going to be pricey because of scarcity as production ramps up. But once it ramps up, should easily be had at MSRP. |

I don't believe it was either, however it's initial scarcity lead sellers to charge well above retail price with people willing to pay to secure one. |

To get high value increase on mass produced watch - it needs long waiting lists, years. SD43 can be acquired in 0-2 months.
