No date sub vs gmt master ii blnr vs gmt master ii tt black dial
My past purchases are : Tissot T-Touch, Hamilton jazzmaster, Vostok Amphibian and Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, i am keeping them all. Now its time for a Rolex !
It will probably be my only Rolex for the next 5 years and I have been looking for long time for the one which is right for me. If i could find the new ss Daytona, i wouldn't look further but no way without paying premium. 1. No date sub: i believe i can not go wrong with that but it lacks the wow factor. (Photo belongs to sub date) 2. Gmt master ii blnr: it is sporty, blue color has some more attraction, sporty and can go well in most cases (except brown suits) strong second hand value if i ever sell it, which is always possible 3. Gmt master ii two tone, black dial: looks so nice, has the most wow factor, flashy, takes the most attention, not so strong second hand value and pricey. Thanks in advance for the advises. |

I disagree about the Sub C lacking wow factor; it has immense presence on the wrist. On the other hand it lacks a date. Of the other two the BLNR is more popular; I'm personally not fond of its colors. I'd go for the TT black GMTII.

The Sub Date is classic looking and will never go out of style.
I like the GMT BLNR because it is a little rare and it is pretty. Not a fan of the GMT two tone. I prefer the Sub Two Tone. |

I like the TT GMT. Sub is boring unless you go smurf.

I couldn't disagree more regarding the SubC lacking the wow factor. IMO it's such a iconic piece for Rolex and a staple in their lineup.
I'm not a fan of the 6 digit ref series GMT for some reason I feel like there's a lot of noise on the bezel and prefer the 5 digit ref series in the GMT lineup. Again, these are just opinions. Purchase what you feel works for you. |

Wow factor seems important to you so go for the TT.

TT GMT as it sounds like you want a watch that pops and has that wow factor. I own the ceramic version and I get compliments on it all the time. It is a beautiful watch.

If you want a Sub get the 114060. It's the only real Sub in the current inventory.
If you want a GMTII, any one will do.

BLNR has grown on me, so that's my choice. if it were that or sub date, i would pick the sub.

Have you considered an LN?

I have a BLNR and TT GMTc. I also have a LVc and an older sub/date. The TT GMTc is not subtle so you have to really like TT to avoid making an expensive mistake. The BLNR is beautiful, just make sure you like the PCLs. The Sub with and without date is timeless.
As others noted, the older 5 digit series GMTs are quite attractive too. If I were in your shoes, first I'd decide if I want a new style (6 digit reference) or older style (5 digit reference). New style I'd go with the BLNR as my first choice and SUB second. |

Of the three I would go for the Sub. Believe me, it has the "wow factor".
I'm a huge GMT fan but Im not fond of the BLNR or the gold two tone - black all the way with the 6 digit GMT.

I'd say Sub here. Yes, it lacks the traditional "wow factor" you seem to be looking for, but I think you may find yourself getting tired of the BLNR or GMT TT long term. A Sub is a watch you can keep forever.

It would be the GMT for me, hands down. Although I wear a TT Datejust, the TT GMT Master II just doesn't appeal to me. I would jump for the BLNR in an instant.

All three are great, you have good taste
My vote: 1) TT GMT (ladies will swoon...) 2) BLNR GMT 3) Sub Here are the GMT and Sub side by side |

I don't think OP meant that Sub completely lacks the wow factor, but of the 3 choices it is the most "under the radar". I would go w/ the BLNR because it is in between the TT and Sub in terms of "wow factor" and it's just an awesome watch. But be warned that you will want another Rolex soon after and won't want to wear any of the others you have.

You mention WOW factor and retained value in case you were to sell in the future. The BLNR fits both requirements.
