Hi guys !!!

I recently got hold of an iPhone 8 prototype/dummy from a friend of mine who works in and around China. I really don't know what to make of it. It seems to me, to be based off a lot of the more recent leaks and rumours related to the new screen (mentioned in the HomePod firmware etc )

If the phone really does look like this, is it enough to keep the iPhone fans happy, myself included? I love how bloggers and others are talking about the screen to body ratio, but other devices have had this for some time now.

Anyway, value what the forum thinks.

I hope that's not what the actual iPhone will look like. That thing looks like a North Korean knockoff of a Chinese knockoff of a legitimate iPhone.

lol it's made up based on recent leaks. So close to a reliable mockup tho I'm not sure apple would have an all white front bezel. Looks odd.

It doesn't look like how I imagine the 8 is going to look. The bezel looks 'wrong'. I'm not overly bothered either way, I'll buy an 8 whatever it looks like.

I quite enjoyed the review, thank you, I appreciated that you took the time to explain that it is a mockup of "best guesses," that said, I thought it looked a bit too square and didn't think that the camera solution was that elegant looking. I also thought that the chrome surround looked like an afterthought and very "un Apple" like in design, it would look better without it (IMHO).

I don't think that I can remember Apple offering an ugly phone and don't think they will in September. The last iPhone I used, to any extent was the 5, I also bought the 5S but ended up selling it on and used a Nexus device instead, I just thought that at that stage Apple were churning out phones that were all a much of a muchness and I have not gone back since.

I currently have a Galaxy S8+, it is a wonderful phone but I have my wife upgrade to use on a new phone shortly, I will have a look at the new iPhone but if I was a betting man, my new phone will probably be the next Google Pixel. (I had the first Pixel and found it really good).

As an aside, I did like your camera case with your name embossed on it.

Looks exactly like the first 7 to come out, but I know nothing of these. (Still enjoy and only use my flip phone)

Title is misleading , the is not a prototype from Apple that you somehow got your hands on like that time that one was left at a bar in the case of the iPhone 7 , this is just a fantasy mockup that your friend in china made , you might get lucky and have guessed some features like the orientation on the camera , but again Apple keeps its cards close to its chest so you might be completely off
