Rolex Sub 16613 - Help needed
Hi all,
First, I love the board and have lurked around here for years. I've been debating on what to do with my daily Sub, and thought you all would be the ones to ask. I have two datejust watches and the Sub. I play golf, swim and do just about everything with my Sub. This has caused the watch some wear, as you can see in the photo. I will say that the scratches don't look near as bad as the photo shows. My problems are the tritium dial yellowing (bought it like that) and the mark I put on the bezel. I am kind of leaning towards replacing the dial, replacing the bezel and then sending off for a servicing. If I just replaced the bezel insert and sent off for a service, would the dial be able to be cleaned? Any other advice you all have? Thanks in advance for your help! ![]() |

Nice Blusey! Rolex would prob replace the dial and charge you big bucks for it! The insert is an cheap and easy fix. An independent might be able to refinish the dial. Of course the case and bracelet would come back looking new. How long have you owned the watch? It has great character!

I don't know that face very well but tritium? I don't see any on the dial...
It's hard for me to think anything other than something got inside the watch that is causing the dial to do that. Water or something? |

I will also add this: I've taken it to Ben Bridge in Austin twice. They put in a new link and have pressure tested it for me. It passed. I know that doesn't mean anything, but I really think the dial is time and not water. I don't know as much as you all do, though.

Sorry, but that dial looks like a water issue to me. Dials generally don't age that way.

You could be right. I bought it with those imperfections. What should I do next? Move it, fix it, or what? The AD said I have a great watch, but should send it off for service. Will the service clean the dial? I just want to know what to do. Thanks.

It's a great watch but needs tlc. Invest a bit and have RSC do all the work to bring it back like new. You will have a like new bluesy with a fresh 2 year warranty. You won't regret it.

That is a beautiful watch with an ultra special and unique dial. (IMO)
My advice: keep doing what you're doing and continue to enjoy that beauty. ![]() |

But what does this mean? That's what I am trying to figure out. They just want to send it off to be serviced, but I don't know if that's enough. Do I need to buy a new dial and bezel insert as well? Lay out exactly what I need to do. Thanks.

Absolutely beautiful watch. Not sure the dial can be cleaned though.

I think the dial and bezel need to be replaced IF you want the watch to look good. Otherwise, it just looks beat up to me.
