Real or potential replica? With pictures!

Hey all - I found this watch will keep information disclosed at the moment to protect potential seller. However It is claimed to be genuine however I do not see a serial number on this case. It does have the rolex rolex rolex on the chapter ring, and it does have the model number engraved at top of case. Looking at these few pictures is it normal for no serial number to be on the case for a Submariner no date 114060...See attached pictures to verification.

I want to say this is a replica since there is no engraved serial number on the case...but want some opinions.

2005. Rolex starts to engrave the serial number on the inside ring (rehaut) and on the case.

From 2008. Rolex does'nt engrave on the case at 6 anymore but only on the chapter ring. ( and sorry for my bad english) :-))

From 2010, gradually, all the models have the serial number inside the ring

Is the serial number inside the dial at 6 o'clock on the rehaut?

Ok very good to know. I do believe I can make out some numbers on the chapter ring at 6 now that I am looking very closely at that location...

Should be a combo of 8 letters and numbers in a random order. Could start with a letter or number. Also, Rolex will be engraved completely around the rest of the inner dial. Also clearer photos will help.

The movement is not genuine. It is a Chinese replica movement.

What do you see in the movement that lets you know that? I'm curious, it looked right to me, minus the finishing on some parts of the movement.

I edited right after I saw your post, but yes, it looked pretty spot on to me. I would have been fooled by this. Then again, I wouldn't be buying my Rolex off eBay, either.

There are a couple subtle tells. Find a high quality picture of a genuine movement from the Rolex website or another trusted source and see if you can spot the differences between this movement. The replica movements are getting very accurate. They will accept about 90% genuine parts. The accuracy of the copied movement is getting scary.

Correct
And I have even better (cleverer) samples.
Thanks for not posting the signs - its better we do not advise others how to hide these counterfeits

Rolex and the serial engraved on the rehaut seem to disappeared depending on the picture... super odd. I ,personally and maybe others can share their experience, never seen the engraved Rolex or Serial, fade away on the rehaut
