116613LN vs. 116713LN

Hi,

Just a quick question...
Which one would you choose if you had the choice between these two watches ?
Would have made a poll but didn't figure out how yet :-)

Greetings
Pascal

Between those two, the GMT. Now if the sub was a star burst, that's a different story...

Both watches are superb! But for me, I would have to go with the 116713N. You have the exact look of the Submariner but you have the added feature of the GMT. That added time zone is simply awesome, when traveling.

Sub gets you unidirectional dive bezel for timing, gmt gets you another time zone. Pcls are no longer a factor, as both will have them. Sub will have glidelock bracelet, and gold, which I like.

I would go sub, but even more so if a bluesy with sunburst dial were in the mix.

I've owned both, sold the sub and kept the GMT, no regrets.

Hi Pascal

Me again. I had the exact same questiion last year.

I chose the sub because the bezel was less fussy to my eyes and the glidelock clasp is a better design than the fliplock

Tough call.
Sub has the glidelock. GMT has the the time zone.
I think the GMT wins as a TT watch because the 24hr complication fits better on a dressier TT.

GMT TT. I've owned one for about 6 months and am glad I picked it over bluesy and 116613LN. Keeps getting fonder of it over time...

It would come down to needs. If I need a GMT function then that would be my choice. If I didn't require that I would choose the Submariner for the glidelock.

I'd pick the subc, I prefer the GMTc in SS or PM, where the larger bezel numbers flow into the same colour case better.

Seems like an age old question that many will have... I did a google search and came across this thread from way back...

OP,
From a few feet away no one will be able to tell the difference. (well, non WIS type that is.)

GMT has a busier dial and bezel than Sub. Which do you prefer?

GMT function is missing from Sub. But Sub has the glidelock clasp that is god sent. GMT's easylink is also good, but not nearly as nice as glidelock for adjustments. Do you think you will prefer GMT functionality or glidelock convenience?

If part of the rotation, GMT sitting for a few days, will be more painful to set the date (keep moving the hour hand 24 hours to change the date) while Sub will be quick and easy.

Between the two, I would go with Sub, unless I had a use for GMT functionality or liked the busier dial/bezel.

I like them both. But the bolder gold on the bezel and the green get hand makes me like it slightly more.

You can't go wrong with either. If you're a diver go Sub. If you're a traveler go with the GMT. I'm a GMT guy with a 16710 Pepsi.

Hello

First of all I have to say that I really like you guys here on this forum.

Thank you all for your input.
I considered them and, again, it's a very split outcome.
But I notice that people like the bluesy a lot ;-)

Well I went to the AD today and made my decision.
I'm just waiting on closing in on a business and the resulting money to drop on bank account and I'll go shop my first Rolex as fast as a cheetah (Mum, we made it ;-). lol

I'll try to upload a pic as soon as I find enough free time to take a nice capture...

thank you gentlemen...

Bye
