Talking about a heirloom watch

To celebrate my son's birth, I bought the SD 16600 in 2009. I even put it in the cradle at the hospital and took their picture. So one day when I give the watch to him, he should know that it's a very special watch.

Special moment and a special watch. 16600 is the only watch you will ever need. Congratulations!

Beautiful moment. I did the same thing when my daughter was born in May 2017. I purchased the BLNR a couple weeks before and will be passing down to her one day.

Congrats on your son and the watch

I wish I had the chance to take a photo like this. Will make a special piece even better when he can see it's been with him from the very beginning.

Congrats & bless.

How do you know he'll grow up to enjoy divers (I know who wouldn't love a SD, right?).

He might grow up and become a pilot / GMT kinda man, but then again, who am I kidding - everyone needs a diver lol.

Awesome strategy

That's your son's growth chart. Check out the price of the discontinued 16600 back in 2009 when your son was born. Now a pre owned FS is easily > USD 7K. You , Sir , Are a Genius !

I did the same when my son was born in 2014, but with an SD4K. Since the SD4K was introduced that year, I'm also able to tell him that the watch is literally as old as he is.

Talking about a heirloom watch

I did likewise with a GMTIIC in 2011 - although my photo had me holding my Son post delivery...

I remind him when I have the watch on that I wore it at his birth and that it will be his someday.

Thank you all

I just hope that my children are into watches when they're grown up.
