PAM00421no love?

i have offered my PAM00421 for sale in a very respected high end used watch shop in vienna, at a very reasonable price - simply because i want to concentrate on patek and rolex (no sales pitch here though!!!!!). strangely enough it did not sell yet after three months and the owner of the shop tells me that almost nobody even takes a look at it. i am wondering what is wrong with the model (the watch itself is in perfect state)? is it indicative for the panerai second hand market or just that the gold models are not liked by paneristi?
most likely i will take it back again and keep wearing it once in a while, i like the watch....
ps: i should add that i bought a patek 5712R which kind of ticks similar boxes to the PAM00241, namely rose gold case on croc strap, brown dial......

To each their own. I would definitely say yellow gold and Rose gold are certainly not the most popular. I like it very much though, keep it and enjoy

The Pam 421 it's an amazing piece in gold, but I'm guessing in Europe people don't wear as much gold like in North America, keep it and enjoy cheers.

Now that is a watch I could fall in love with!

The arrow head on the GMT hand is phonominal

The rose gold really compliments the brown dial.

What's not to like?

Tough to make a general comment on second-hand pricing based on a 47mm RG Rad with date and GMT function. It's a very particular watch with what I would imagine to be a fairly limited market. Also, there are quite a few other RG PAM options out there.

Anyway, good luck with the sale. Who knows, you might be back to Panerai some day....

actually, i'd rather keep it than give it away at some ridiculous price. it is a nice piece but as i said, the patek 5712r has taken up its job.

I think this is the best option...It really is a nice watch and it doesn't hurt at this point to keep it, if you don't need the funds.

well, i wanted to use the funds to buy a calatrava 5227 but never mind. i have a few pateks incoming in there near future and can do without the calatrava. and as it was said before the PAM00421 is a niece piece.

I believe that there is a buyer for the watch but it is about the right person seeing it and the price being right. In the U.S. the prices on Panerai's are soft for most models. The watches must be purchased with a significant discount so that at a sell/flip it does not hurt as much. I would find a dealer that has the PP that you want, probably Grey Market and work out a deal. If you sit on the watch it is not going to get any better, you just have a lot of money tied up in a watch that you do not want.

precisely this is the idea. but the dealer offers a ridiculously low price for the PAM00421 (about 55% of list) and wants a ridiculously high price for the calatrava (about 85% of list, 4years old watch). anyway, i was just interested whether this kind of stuff is indicative for the second hand panerai market or whether it is the gold model only.
probably will keep the watch and wear it once in a while.

off list

A dealer offering you 55% of list today on a panerai is not bad. I sold my pam 575 gold for 60% of list, dealers offered 50% or less. I bought a new 535 ss for 25% from a dealer. The market is soft.

Its a gorgeous watch. Perhaps gold watches are not selling as well now? Hold onto it - you will probably regret selling it.
