Unusual (?) marking between the lugs.
Hi
I have had quite a lot of Rolex watches over the years, and I've admired all of them, thoroughly, through a loupe. Just because I like to. My most recent purchase is a Rolex 16523 Daytona. I have only ever had steel watches before so that might explain it, but this watch has an indentation between the lugs on the 12 o'clock side that none of my other watches have had. Does anyone know why the indentation? Why not on all watches? Is it an aid for manufacturing or a notification of some sort? Would love to know! Have attached a picture, not great quality but I think you can clearly see the indent I'm referring to. The watch is fresh back from a full service at an RSC, so I have no issues regards legitimacy. Would be great to hear your thoughts.. Thanks for looking. Ted. |

Hi
When I first noticed it I thought the same, but when I took a closer look it became clear what it was. It may not be clear from the picture, but it's a punched indentation. It's definitely intentional, and required a little care to create. It's very neat! |
