TT Louder than YG??
I popped into an AD today and checked out their pre-owned selection. I have a 16613 blue dial but always had dreams of selling it to help fund a 16618 one day.
The AD had a 16618 with serti dial and blue bezel and I was excited to try it on expecting that you would notice it on my wrist from a mile away (I had never tried on YG before today). I was underwhelmed and felt like my TT popped more than the YG. Anyone else with similar opinions? Did I just build up the YG in my head to be more than what it is? |

I know what you mean, sometimes the gold can all fade down, the RG even looks like SS in certain bright light, whereas the TT has more contrast and draws the eye.

I guess it depends on the model. I have a TT GMT Master II, it's beautiful. But the other day I say a guy who had on the GMT Master II YG, with green dial, wow, very impressive!

I stopped in my AD's with the intention of buying a Y/G Bluesy as it was on my wrist I looked down and saw the TT and said that is a Awesome watch and asked to try it on. I honestly liked it better and didn't notice that big of a difference in weight. How about you did you notice a big difference in the weight?? I will own a PM Y/G soon just not a Bluesy. Maybe a DD or a GMT II Master with green dial. The Bluesy TT is just beautiful IMO. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I agree. Thought I wanted a 40mm Day/Date yellow gold. Then tried on a Date Just two tone 41mm with a jubilee. I think the two tone popped more and was +- $20K less.

Good question about weight Bill - I know that YG is heavier but it did not feel noticeably heavier than TT when on your wrist

I don't know if I would say "loud"...but to my eye, the YG is calmer, whereas the TT has more color schemes going on. Which is why it's my hands down favorite TT out there.

The TT can definitely be more noticeable/flashy than the YG. I think it also depends on what attire your wearing each model with.

Is louder what you want?
I like my TT but I think the PM pieces make more of a statement. It may be understated to your eyes but to anyone who knows watches it is definitely a bold statement. |

My wife says I was born to wear a TT Rolex. She also says I am stuck in 1985.

I'm in the same boat here but it could change from day to day. The bluesy dial is off the charts and is instantly noticeable. My day-date dial is white so no real sparkle there. If the lighting is right, you can see a YG day-date from a mile away and know exactly what it is though (WIS certification required). The day-date only really shines when clean. When mine is dirty it's kind of meh. Clean it's a disco ball. The sub sort of maintains an even keel dirty or clean in 2 tone. I suggest just getting both

I've worn one of two YG DayDate watches for almost 50 years. My Patek and GMT BLNR get more attention than the DayDates. The only person to notice my DayDate was an 8 year old boy who was fascinated with its color and weight.

I think that most Rolex TT watch contrast very well with the YG and SS and depending on the dial can stand out in a way that a solid PM watch does not on first sight. With that said, I do believe the solid PM watches make a stronger impression past first glance. I have owned TT, YG, RG, WG and Platinum models over the years and consistently got more comments on the bling factor from people on the YG Daytona models. Don't know why but that was my impression.

My TT Bluesy was incredibly loud and blingy to me. Which i loved. That's not the reason i sold it. The sunburst blue works in any configuration though.

I think my TT Sub 116618 LN look more better because of contrast!
