Photobucket workaround hack
If anybody is still annoyed by photobucket hijacking the interwebs by holding ransom over external linking to pics hosted on their site... supposedly there are some browser extensions that will spoof the server into not denying you service.
Only for google chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...fegnfnflicjjgj https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...bifiaedg?hl=en & Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...ix/?src=search |

Read the reviews before trying.
I have seen on other forums that this will not work for long. Best to download all your images from that site and simply stop using them

I just pay the minimum fee. Annoying, but everyone is monetizing their sites so what can you do?
For example, I want to watch the new Star Trek Discovery TV show, and CBS charges a minimum subscription fee of $7 a month (with ads). So I googled pirate sites (VPN) and every single one charges a subscription fee. And freaken Netflix carries STD in every country in the world EXCEPT the US. These subscription fees really add up. Very irritating. |

There's been a few cycles of these workarounds, so I hear. I seldom get to surf on any computer these days, haven't tried any plugin.
Agreed shouldn't use photobucket but it's good to revive old pic-heavy threads, especially useful ones like tutorials. Some forum softwares are also automating grabbing every pic used and rehosting locally. If a workaround is able to access photobucket linked image, hopefully some whitehat knight will code some handy gizmo that will archive all old pics & keep them visible. |

You paid the ~$400 or thereabouts? PB wasn't just demanding a "reasonable" monthly fee, thought they wanted a whole year paid in advance too.
Sux to be all those lazy fleaBay vendors still showing photobucket broken links. You'd think they've heard by now |

I've fallen back onto my flickr account.. it's a tie-in with yahoo/yahoo mail.
It's always up and running unlike you see with Imgur.. Used to use google photos but they did the same thing as PB. |

You can download all your images off their site and move to another where linking is allowed. I did this with my images and moved them to Flickr.

It's more for ancient threads with PB linkage from other posters that we may need to refer to, now or in near future Some of these posters might no longer frequent that particular forum. (And some, sadly, might no longer even be with us in the land of the living.) |
