When I get one it will be in rotation with 8 watches. That being said I guess I would have to get a winder, otherwise I would have to reset it every time it came out of the box. That would defeat the purpose of the annual calendar.

What have others done?

Also the premium for the SS ones is like that of the Daytona. I assume as long as Rolex holds back on the supply it won't change. You can find TT ones just above MSRP. Thanks you Madison Ave Mad Men.

I enjoy setting mine. It doesn’t take long when you get the hang of it.

no winder for me. its kinda fun. i even overshoot the date once and had to advance it the entire year, didn't take too long even. I'm in rotation too

I'm pretty sure you can rewind and forward wind the date without damaging the movement.

I let mine wind down so I "get to" set it.

As others have said its a fun watch to operate.

Exactly no Rolex watch needs any sort of machine to wind any watch, as long as you have the use of your fingers and wrists.

I'm fascinated by the watch so I like to set it every time it's not being worn. As others have said, it only takes a minute to set it.

Guess I'm in minority so far but keep mine on a winder.... Yes, fun to set but I also like to grab and go in the morning before work.

Regarding the price, get on list and wait... Great as it is, I wouldn't pay the premium they are going for

Thanks All, that is what I figured. I had a winder many years ago and didn't like it. Part of the fun of these watches is handling and setting them.

Love my winder, maybe when I am retired and don't have to rush anywhere I will get rid of it.

I do not use winders. I think it is nice to wind it and set the precise time.

TBH, being in a fairly large rotation is one of the drawbacks of this watch for me. Yeah I know it can be easily set, but really the AC seems a more useful function if this was your day in and day out watch...in all honesty the DD is a more useful complication as I usually struggle to know what day it is more than I do what month it is.

And with the price point of the new steel Sky on the gray market being right up there with a nice pre-owned DD40, that would be a no brainer for me. Now...if one could score a Sky at retail, that's a different story.
