Itch for the RG DD40 w/ Olive Dial

I just purchased my first watch, a 116613LB about two months ago and am loving it.

However I have a huge itch for a DD40 in RG with that anniversary green dial.

Any owners out there have any thoughts/pics of their watch? I just think the color combo is absolutely stunning.

How has it been for people that have had it for a while? does it get use?

thanks!

chad

I was looking at the RG DD40 with green dial yesterday when I was at my AD purchasing my SD43. Its a beautiful combination. The green dial is a much lighter green than the green submariner.

The dial is just fantastic, i think it would look good on YG too.

It's a beautiful watch, just have to see if the RG or WG works for you...the dial is top notch truly fitting for the presidential.

Love this combo and was surprised to see quite a few deals on them. Only thing that held me back is my now being so accustomed to larger pieces ( over 41mm) and when trying it on it just seemed a bit small. I know crazy to say especially being that I had a older platinum 36DD which I also loved but was many years ago. I keep going back and forth on it as I think it's the classiest of them all currently available and the colors are just breathtaking. If you haven't yet, definitely go try one one. Pictures dont do it justice.

I get a lot of use out of mine...but I have the WG version.

No more beautiful dial made, IMO.

Yea tried one on in an AD but couldn't get a great feel because the band was too tight on it. I'll have to go back.

I just worry that the RG will get old, and I don't want WG because to me it just looks like SS. It's just so beautiful, maybe I'll pick one up pre owned to nix some of the depreciation I would see.

Thanks

Chad

To me unless you already have yellow gold, yellow is the way to go for a DD40. I could get tired of Rose and white looks like SS. Big decision.

I absolutely love that dial. The colour, the numerals, just stunning. Although my pick would be the white gold.

The RG/Olive dial DD is one of my favorite Rolexes, bar none. The WG version is also stunning and albeit more discreet - if I could, I'd own both! Really spectacular piece and I look forward to getting my hands on one in the next few years.

It's definitely cool. I'd find it more versatile if it had stick markers

You might want to try a few other DD40s on, for the sake of comparison

The best DD40 photo on google was actually HL65 but for some reason I couldn't direct link his photo. Here's the same watch

I think the green dial is the most stunningb and on rose gold nearly perfect. Personally I like the white gold the best, as I kind of like the idea that most may assume it's SS. The platinum is also great, but the fluted bezel is probably best on a DD.

Hey Chad, got so old after awhile I’m on my 2nd one!! Sold it original and went though an AP RG ROC, AP RG ROO and AP 44 Ceramic. All the other pieces are gone and I’m back. I rock it with shorts/jeans and t shirt all day and I love it.

Chad, I have had my 116619LB smurf for a year, and I am still in love with the DD RG and olive dial. Yeah the white gold is pretty too, but that RG olive combo really works for me.

The smurf is an everyday watch for me. I couldn't wear the DD RG everyday, I don't think.

I'd buy one with olive green dial if they'd make it in steel, it's one of my favorite dials.

If I was to try precious metal, it'd be yellow gold for me so probably with a white or champagne dial.
