SD43 Box Sizes

Hey guys, I have a situation where my AD came me two different box sizes. Which one is the correct one for the sd43? Looks like they giving me a sub box set? I only noticed this bc i purchased my first SD43 two months ago, i came back to take a look and there was another SD43 in the display case. I was surprised and purchased that one too. Maybe one of my family members or friends would want it.
Box on the left measure 7-3/8 x 5-3/8, right box measure 8-3/8 x 6-3/8" inches.

very nice of you to do that for your family.
I think it's up to the dealer to give you whichever box they decide to give.

I second what David said. I think that the watches usually come from Rolex in the clear "coffin" cases it is up to the dealer to put them in the correlating box when you purchase it. My AD usually allows me to choose but I tell him to just give me the appropriate box.

Nice!!! See if they''ll give you the large Rolex Box which usually goes with the YM2 and any of the solid PM models.

Picked up my new larger box today, on the outter cover it has "OYSTER L", they also held my warranty card for two weeks. I also noticed they forgot to sign and date the card. Does this mean I have a forever warranty? LOL

And I thought AD’s were putting an end to multiple purchases of the same reference. If not they should. I cannot believe that that AD does not have a waiting list.

I’d make sure it’s stamped with the AD info for sure. Date is less important as they’re swiped now but still it’s good to have.

I was told the boxes were issued based on metal content; SS/small, TT/medium, PM/large.

Admit it, you are going to flip the SD43 so you want to make sure you have the right box.

I was told something similar.
My YM came in a medium box. My very knowledgeable friend told me, he was surprised but assumed it was because of the Platinum in the bezel.

Currently in the UK SS models come in Small boxes, my recent SD43 came in Small box.(bit snug to be honest).
I still think it should be in the Medium box due to the thickness of the watch.
The original SD came in a Medium box.

In the U.K, the correct box is printed on the white 'swing' tag next to the model reference and below the serial number. On the SD43's that I've seen, they come in the Oyster S box.

Small is the standard, and frankly my box of choice. Safe has limited space.

SD43 should come with a Oyster S box. Which is strange to me as it doesn't fully close with the watch inside. I got an Oyster L box when I picked up mine. Box size really doesn't matter unless it's one of those boxes that are special/unique to the piece (e.g. the wood Pearlmaster boxes or the XL boxes with areas for storage reserved for Platinum pieces.)

When I picked up my SD43, the AD pulled out the Oyster S box. Incredibly small. Looked like it was made for OP's or the Air King, or the line of women's watches.

I asked him if he could double check that it was the correct box as I found it too small. A couple minutes later he came back with a Medium sized box. I'm more than happy with that.

Mine came in a M box. Interesting that the correct case was the S. Will that affect the value in 50 or so years?

Mine came in the bigger box. So did my sub.

The smaller box in my collection was the GMT and the Daytona.
