Should I trade?
I have a Rolex gold GMT C 116718 and I'm beginning to lust after the RO Chronograph 26331ST the panda dial. I know I will lose the flashiness of the gold piece that I kind of enjoy but the RO might be more practical. I have a wonderful Panerai, SubC, and a VC Overseas Chrono. What do you think?

I'd get the Royal Oak but not sure if the VC overseas will get a look in once you do.

Hey, I used to have the 116718 GMtC YG and it’s an awesome watch, but after a few years I’d had enough of it and had my fill of it’s flashiness. As such the 15400ST has been a fantastic replacement daily wearer and I really enjoy it.
But just make sure you’re ready to give up the YG GMT already, if you might miss the flashiness then don’t get rid of it yet you’ll regret it. Still, the AP bracelet is actually very eye catching and flashy, even in steel. |

I think this particular reference is beautiful and APs are truly special on the wrist. But, I would try the watch on wrist first (41mm) and see how it fits. Thanks to the integrated bracelet, the 41mm feels more like 44mm to me.

I would not give up the all gold Rolex, and tho I am a big fan of the VCO I would let that go instead and maybe another if needed. I also like Tyler's idea of a full gold ROC, I'd keep the VCO then.

Keep the 116718, it's not even a close call for me.

I don't think the RO is going to be more practical.
I'd keep the GMT. Admittedly I'm not fond of the ROC.

I would keep the GMT. I just purchased one a month ago and love it.

I would have a hard time dealing with the fact that I own an AP without an AP movement! But to be fair, I'm unreasonable.

And the most sought after Rolex, Paul Newman's Daytona does not have a Rolex movement. Some of the most sought after Patek's do not have Patek movements but have Lemania movements as in 5070, 3970 and 5970. So for me it makes no difference as the movement in the ROC is a proven workhorse just like the Valjoux's and Lemania's used by Rolex, Patek and other top watch houses.
