Help with authentication

Gents,

Newbie here - so please go easy on me. I've been wanting a Panerai for awhile.
Entry level is about $8-9k in Aus. So I am looking at a used watch. Are you able to tell if this watch is fake or org. from these photos?

Appreciate your help in advance

As Eddie said.

Also make sure any PAM has all the supporting paperwork, this being warranty card with numbers matching the serial no. on the watch, COSC certificate, and service papers if any and preferably Panerai service papers. J

Need way more closer and clearer pictures of the movement. Especially around the balance wheel area.

Welcome aboard! Does it come with paperwork? Always buy the seller first, from this pics it’s hard to tell ask for more pics.

Nothing jumps out at me in the photos, but better pics would help.

That being said, "buying the seller" is the most important.

Normally fakes jump out and slap me in the face . . but this doesn't tbh

Most fake 'boxsets' I have seen have the incorrect nameplate inside the lid ... the Pam177 should say just Officine Panerai not Officine Panerai with 'Firenze 1860' underneath. Normally the text font is a dead giveaway also.

I think its real.

A photo of back & movement of my old 177

Proceed with caution 'buy the seller' as other others said. The photos might be of a real watch but that doesn't mean you won't get sent a brick in a box.

I think we need better pictures and we need to see your paperwork as well to be able to tell.

Its always scary to me when people start asking for authentication based on a few mediocre photos.

If it were my money, I would go for sources that I can trust. I much rather pay a little more for a peace of mind (and being sure the watch is real), rather than save a few hundreds and risk buying an expensive paper weight.

Though the case back / movement photo doesn't scream fake to me, I would be caution about it at least.

I am not a gambling man though, YMMV. (And yes, its always alarming when new member posting for the first time trying ask whether a watch looks real enough)

Find one on here from a trusted seller if you are questioning it. Play it safe..
