Multiple Rollies.... How do you....?

Truth be told, I can't afford more then one Rolex... Truth REALY be told, I can't afford the one I have, but this is a question to you TRF-ers fortunate enough to own two, three, or even several Watches. How do you decide which one to wear? I see other Rollies and drool over them, had to sell my GMT II to purchase my Daytona and sometimes I think: "That GMT is a great watch, I'd like to have another," but then I imagine getting up in the morning, choosing to wear the GMT and later on wishing I had worn the Daytona. Then the next day, doing the same thing in reverse, kind of like... always second-guessing myself. (Maybe it's the Schizophrenia..... Maybe it's the Schizophrenia...).

Anyway, serious question, do you guys have like a rotation schedule? Or just wear whatever suits your fancy that day?

Cheers to everyone!

Before I bought my Rolex, I rotated each day: Panerai, Breitling, Omega....Panerai, Breitling, Omega...etc etc

Then I bought my Rollie....and it hasn't left my wrist since. I couldn't image what I'd do if I owned 2 or more Rolex's! =S

I'm sure I'll eventually get back into a rotation kinda thing again. Although I just looked at my watch box before to decide what to wear tomorrow....and you guessed it...the Sub!

During the week, I mostly wear my GMT II. I really consider it a "tool" watch. During the weekend, it's what ever I feel like wearing......dressed down or up. If it's one that I haven't worn in a while, then I'll give it some TLC on the weekend.

Different watches for different tasks. They all serve a purpose.

I keep mine in the deposit box at the bank, from time to time I'll go down and put the one I'm wearing in and pull one out and wear that one for awhile. Just when the mood hits me I guess.

I wear mine in rotation - it used to be quite strict, but I've loosened it up a bit to wear what fits the occasion. If I'm racing, I'll wear the Daytona. If I'm playing poker, I'll wear the Panerai. If I'm meeting a client, I'll wear the YG DD or the Patek. If I'm bumming around, I'll wear the YM. But for the most part, there's a kind of rotation.

What I do with more than one

I've gone through so many Rolex in the past 3 years my wife is about to kill me. In addition I have bought and sold mid level watches so that I always have at least an extra watch to wear when not wearing the Rolex. To your point...whenever I would wear something else I'd feel guilty about not wearing the Rolex. So I sold all my non-Rolex and discovered I could go vintage Rolex for not alot of money. Now I have a new exp II and a 1960's Oyster Royal...so no matter what I wear I'm wearing a Rolex and I have no guilt!

To be honest I really think I was more satisfied when I just had my old GMT and just popped it on every day. Now I have three and two are sitting on a winder all the time. When I take a trip I can't decide which one to take and most of the time can't decide which one to wear daily. I had no intention of having multiple watches. When I decided to give my son the GMT I bought a Sub/date, based mainly on feedback here. Then I happened on a TT DJ which had always been my iconic Rolex and bought it. Then, based largely on feedback here, because I didn't know a Daytona from Adam, I had to have one. I honestly think I would be perfectly happy with the DJ and let it go at that. In short, you can tell from my experience, you might not want to hang around here too long. It gets expensive and confusing.

I just pick up whatever strikes my fancy on a given day. Took my Sub off the winder yesterday and realized I hadn't had it on for a while, the time was 1 hour off. Daylight savings time ended here a week ago.

I choose which watch to wear every day depending on what I am doing and wearing. I wear my DJ when I want to get dressed up. I wear my Millie and Daytona depending on my mood. I have not worn my GV yet.

I have to admit that I have not worn my Tag once since I got my first Rolex.

I really enjoy picking which watch to wear every day. It is a good problem to have!

I dont have that problem ever since my TT DJ was resized to fit my wife, my SD gets preferential treatment over my Breitling, Sinn and Stowa.

Watches are fashion accessories for me, so it entirely depends on what I'm wearing, and where I'll be...

When I'm doing the physical side of my job, I wear my PO on rubber more than anything else...In the office, it all depends on the color of my shirt/tie/cufflinks that day....

This is why one of my watch buying philosophies is not to double up on watches with the same indication...(although I have broken this rule with the SS sub and GMTc)...

Otherwise, each watch is completely different...

It's such a shame that most people don't even notice....

I have 7, and have 3-4 on a rotation on my wrist and a winder (depends on my mood) and the other 3-4 are in my safe. It usually depends on my mood. Usually. my Explorer 1 and SS Sub Date are always in my rotation, along with 1-2 others.

I don't have a set schedule. I usually wear one for awhile and then switch.

Right now its my Explorer II.

But reading this thread is making me feel like I ought to wear my SS Sub today.
I recently had been wearing my 116234 DJ, which is really nice with the new jubilee braclet.

And there'e the 14060m which hasn't got much wrist time recently.

I also have a 2000 DJ which is nice.

Okay Now you guys have worked me up into a frenzy.

What should I wear?

Wear a couple of them! I have been wearing one watch till mid day and then swtiching to another. Might do this 2-3 times... Makes Sat and Sun a little bit more interesting for me!

Like everyone else, depends on the mood but usually the newest purchase gets the most wrist time :P Also usually how I am dressed, if casual then the bulkier watches but if in a suit then its almost always the GMT IIc

Yeow! Honestly, I think that embedded in what you wrote is a genuine insight into current consumer culture (speaking as one who pleads guilty in advance...)

I have several nice timepieces, but the YM gets the most wear time.

I think it's a lot like art. For me to purchase a painting it has to do "something" to me and for me. The BMOP TT YM has that magic as well as the Blue TT Sub and the GMTIIc and the Rootbeer GMT and the Coke GMT, and the YG DD, and the Black and White Daytonas.

No problem here with appreciating fine art when I see it!

I think a lot has to do with how friends, family and the world is doing.

In 2001 after the 9 11 diasister i dressed down and wore mostley my Invicta and Tecnomarine watches....it was part of a mourning process.

Now that the US is in a rough patch and i have some friends who are strugelin i find that i will tone back a lot of holiday festivities including wearing my high end rolex's.....I believe there is a time and place for everything and now is the time and place for me to be wearing my $250"TOY" watch more that ever.
