DJ II plus cash for Bluesy?
Need some input.. Thinking of trading my Blue Roman DJ2 with fluted bezel plus 6k cash for a BNIB Bluesey Two Tone sub 116613LB. I currently have the DJ2, a 116610LV Hulk, and a Pam 233. Every time I wear my DJ2 I lust after the Hulk, and wish I wore the sub, but certainly appreciate a sunburst blue dial. Enter the Bluesy. Tried one on and it ticks all of my boxes, and will most likely be used for dressier occasions, that I would’ve otherwise rocked the DJ2.
For work I’m regularly in a suit or scrubs. My only fear is having a collection of 3 with 2 of 3 being subs. The DJ adds a nice dressy component and change of style, so do you all feel that the 2-Tone can handle the task? Would love some opinions! Thanks! |

Definitely feel the bluesy is up to the task. But...can you trade the PAM for it so you don't lose your DJ2?

This is not a bad idea if you feel the DJ2 is nice to have as a dressier piece. I'd personally keep the 233 though, but I rarely need a dressy piece |

I could... however I like having a “non-Rolex” watch on a rubber strap/leather strap for other types of occasions, and I really dig the 233. It also flies under the radar compared to a fluted beze/classic sub styling (yet still has presence)

I only have 3 watches and 2 are Subs. Can't go wrong with a Bluesy and Hulk.

It's what I do.
OK...well then it really just comes down to what you like the best and you get that. For me, there's very few watches ahead of the bluesy in the watch-buying line. Very few. |

I would do it. I have 3 watches and two are subs, each different character tho. The LB is such a great looker. Classic design that will always be nice.

$6k sounds too much with your trade to me. I would look for a like new clean pre owned Bluesy from one of our trusted sellers. TT watches really take a depreciated hit. Bluesy is a super looking Sub that really stands out from the crowd.

I to have been thinking about a bluesy not a big TT fan but tried one on at an AD about a year ago and loved it.The Bluesy is a classic Sub and always will be I would also agree that going through a "Trusted Seller'' would be a better move.

Not sure about the dollar amounts, but bluesy and hulk go very nice together and are mutually exclusive, and can live happily every after together. I should know.

The Bluesy and Hulk are indeed a great pair. You'll love the sunburst dials of both as each is unique.
The TT can be dressed up and down. Good luck with the decision!!

Thanks for all of your replies! The only other option I’m thinking of would be to trade the Pam towards a white dial AP ROO Diver, but then I know I’ll just keep lusting after that blue and gold goodness.... the affliction is very strong this time of year.

It is my go to reference and I would never regret that.
It is a reference that ticks all the boxes as mentioned!! |
