My fellow obsessives

Is the shade/color of the blue dial the same on the DJ 41 as the Day/Date white gold model? I believe the latter dial is a slightly brighter blue. Thoughts? Also, what are your opinions of the way the Roman numerals are laid out on the white gold Day/Date models? For example, instead of IV for the number 4, it reads llll. Why do you think they chose that layout? Aesthetics?

I can’t speak to the reasoning of the Romans, but the blue dial is a different blue. Richer I think.

Four written as IIII is standard for watches. It’s for dial symmetry. The first 4 numbers are all made up of ‘I,’ the next 4 all have a ‘V,’ and the last 4 all have a ‘X.’

That's only one of several explanations, but I guess it's as good as any.

Aesthetics.
And it's quite traditional in the sense that it's the very earliest form of the Roman numeral "4".
