I might never take this off...incoming Sky Dweller...

I had actually put my name in for the black dial because it's so elegant and seems more dressy. But then I started thinking that I already have a couple of black dials (Daytona and Milgauss), and a quirky Z-Blue Milgauss...so when my AD ( a Rolex boutique in a regional chain jewelry store) said she thought she was getting the Sky Dweller, I told I'd prefer white. Lo and behold 5 days later it's on the wrist. I love it.
Couple early wrist shots...we have a thing to go to, but I wanna take more with my good camera and lenses later.

Driving over the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, SC, and downtown for the evening.

Thank you...looks a little big in pictures (wide angle on the phone camera I guess), but in person it's actually perfect. Any larger, and it probably would be too big.

I've been talking to her about it since probably July. The ironic thing is that they actually got a white Skydweller in early August and I had decided I was going to get black back then, so I declined it. Fast forward four months later, and I was lucky enough to get another opportunity. Believe it or not, this AD/rep got me a black Daytona in October 2016.

Lol, I'm strictly just an amateur hobbyist. When I was a college student in the 1970s, I had a Ricoh SLR, then a Pentax SLR. I loved shooting with Ektachrome slide film. In the '80s & '90s, I kind of got away from photography for a while. I eventually picked up a Nikon Coolpix in the early 2000s. These days, I mostly just take pictures of my watches with a cell phone camera, lol. I've researched Leicas from time to time, and I appreciate the precision (and the history), but I haven't seriously pursued one. Of course, I guess that could always change. -Rick.

Probably a discussion for another thread, but SLRs and other film cameras are experiencing a re-discovery of late. I've shot rangefinders for awhile...it's just more expeditious to shoot the M240 which is a digital rangefinder and takes M series lenses. You can get some really well-kept Leicas for not too much if you know where to look. But honestly a lot of the film vibe is "you get what you get," and "if I can take a decent shot with this pos lens/camera..."

It really doesn't feel big to me on my 6.75 wrist. I have a Casio Mudmaster which looks big but feels good. This wears bigger than Daytona but honestly is not cumbersome or awkward even though it may seem so in the photo.

Congrats and gorgeous piece. ? For OP or othef SD owners, do you plan on keeping it on a winder? I've admired the SD since it was released and hope to acquire one someday however I always wonder how many let them run out of power and need to adjust the various time zones. OR do you not care and just set the minute/hour hand and not care about the other zones?
