Omega Constellation without Emblem on Caseback
Hello, All:
I recently came across an Omega Constellation 14K which did not have the Geneva observatory engraved on the case back. I questioned the seller about this and his response was that these were made custom ordered without the emblem engraving if the buyer so chose (where the buyer thought the engraving was uncomfortable on the wrist). Is this correct? I am not able to find anything online to corroborate this theory. Any help/advice is much appreciated. Thanks! |

I've seen various versions of the constellation caseback observatory with respect to brickwork, stars, and both gold and silver colored medallions, but I've never seen one with a plain caseback. It would seem rather odd, as this was an important design element for this model IMO.
I've seen Seamasters with plain backs but never a Connie. I suppose it could have been customer ordered, but why? Comfort? Really? Sounds a bit too much like the princess and the pea. I'm calling BS on this seller, and would strongly suspect it's a Franken. Happy to be proved wrong though, if someone knows differently. |
