OEM or Just as good as?

Here's a general question and looking for some of your experiances.

If you needed to replace your current Oyster or Jubilee band would you buy from Rolex AD or SC or get one off line?

Have you had positive or negative results?

New band

Personaly Earl if I had to shell out the dough... I would go to an AD..just to be on the safe side.
Not that you cant get good deals online, its just my personal opinion.

Earl, I have had good luck on e-Bay buying replacement bands. I'm probably one of the few people who have done well there - but then I lead a charmed life . I have found that you just have to know who you're dealing with. Otherwise, I would probably go to an AD if you want to be certain you're getting the right band.

Ed, I've a SS Jubilee on my 1601 if it's a hot day and I perspire I get a dark watch band ring around my wrist.. I'm thinking the previous owner replaced orgin. stretched out band with aftermarket.. so, this is why the question.

I get the same thing with an original bracelet, it's usually caused by dirt in the bracelet getting wet on oozing out onto my skin. To get round it I give the watch a good wash in warm soapy water every few days. Usually when I've done the dishes.
