Furious

A few weeks ago I had to bring my SL into the body shop because some D-Bag backed into it and dented the front fender.

Of course they didn’t leave a note.

Just happened to the RRS.

I know. Little things. Don’t sweat the small stuff. And I’m not all that mad that I need to correct/pay for it.

I’m more mad that people do this kind of thing.

No honor and integrity. So friggin frustrating.

They should leave a note. Insurance would cover it. It’s hard to find class on the road these days.

Seriously there’s a place very far south for people who do things like that. Sorry that happened.

Precisely why I finally sold my F430. It became a point A to point A car (my garage). Was way too paranoid actually taking it anywhere and parking it in public.

And the down time involved when not having your vehicle sucks. Sorry to hear

I backed my cls into the garage side a year or two ago and I was stuck in a loaner for like three weeks waiting for the parts to get in and it to get fixed etc etc. sucks.

Sorry to hear that Seth.

That Sucks Seth. Sorry man.

I swear some people do this stuff on purpose.

Some guy with no insurance or license ran a red light and hit my wife in my Audi. Insurance (mine) paid, but the car was in the shop for Almost 3 months. Total hassle. Then the guy tried to sue my insurance company.

That’s too bad, and I would be pissed too.

I’m also that guy that walks a mile to the store or restaurant since I park so damn far.

Many people are awful...plain truth.
Last spring picked up a rental in Naples Florida for our vacay.
Second day went to a mall...came out and most of the passenger side had a HUGE scrape and dent. Back door, quarter panel and tail lights. No note no nothing. Can't imagine whoever hit it didn't realize it.
I've found the secret to my happiness is low expectations of others. End up pleasantly surprised more than often disappointed.

Seth, that is so upsetting. Many people are jealous pigs who have no respect. I have caught dirt bags pulling oFF the same thing and driving away, and on both occasions it was a senior who knowingly hit or scraped the car, got out and looked and left. I left notes on the both victims cars with license plate number and my phone number. Both times, dirt bags had the police call them with reports. Would the parking lot where you are have video? A long shot but just a thought. I feel for you man, hope you get the beast fixed up soon.

I feel you, Seth.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago, some ass backed up into my Audi wagon. No note - nothing. Ultimately, damed was repaired, and I traded it in towards a new car a few months later. Car is with someone else now, but whoever did the damage is still an ass.

Good luck with the repair.

I HATE when things like this happen. Sadly I've been in this same situation too many times. Sorry you have to go through this all over again, Seth. Maybe report it to the place you were parked and see if they're able to get anything on camera? People like that need to be taught a lesson, but naturally get what's coming to them I believe.

Sorry this happened. I also park far away and usually someone is next to me for no reason.
I’m thinking of getting a new car and sometimes think it’s not worth it.

I hope it all works out and doesn't cost you to much money of grief.

Sorry to hear about this, Seth. Something similar happened to me once. People can be real a-holes sometimes.

Have you thought about installing a dash cam?

I feel your pain Seth. Years ago and at a time when things like this used to really piss me off, we had a black 850i which is no big deal today (but kind of cool back then). Mrs. BC and/or I would always park 'miles away' and walk to whatever our destination was (i.e. shopping/garden center, supermarket et al). Naturally and over time, there was always some clunker parked right next to our car and hugging the divider lines. 'Door dings' soon amassed and after useless fretting, bodywork/paint and minor 'touch-ups', we finally got rid of the car (after accumulating only 25,000 miles in 3 years).

Opting for a Subaru Outback, we are no longer burdened by the senseless/mindless acts of others and our auto insurance billing has reduced itself significantly. We are now on our 3rd Outback (2-year leases) and have never looked back.

Moral of the story: Why less some inconsiderate jerk ruin your day? Getting from Point A to Point B is the primary objective and with today's traffic gridlock, we rarely got that 850i out of 3rd on typical city boulevards (due to the traffic signals and congestion).

The compulsive 'lane-changers' are perhaps the biggest menace and it's ironic (as well as hilarious) how 90% of the time they end up stopped at the same traffic signal after passing everyone else up.

Totally sucks, in the US I find people have no regard for other’s property(not everyone), for eg I notice many cars here that have dents on the sides and when I travel to Germany quite the opposite. look on the bright side, Could be worse instead of the lady returning a her Christmas tree to Costco she could have left it on your car.

Get a dash cam with a G sensor. When someone bumps you it turns on. Doesn't solve the problem of getting hit, but gives you the person that hit you.
