1 precious metal is fine with me as long as it is one of their professional model.

Get that DD40 right now. One of the best watches out there at any price point, IMO.

Paired with sub you already own, you're set, my friend.

Well, my thoughts are you're most likely building a collection. You've got the perfect building block, the sub. You add a DD40 and you have the perfect PM piece.

Down the road you can add whatever you want, because the core of your collection will be set...and you don't have to do it today. Just my two cents.

For me, no. Now, for you...that's something only you can say.

Also factor in it's probably going to be a while before you can get your hands on one. So...timing-wise, getting the DD40 now and snagging a D500 a few years down the road makes a lot of sense.

Both the same, IMO. The DD will give you a different look over the sub, however, while the GMT is going to carry over the sub DNA. Just my thoughts.

I'll go against the crowd here and say two SS watches > 1 PM piece. Maybe it's an age or style thing, but I don't have much desire for PM.

At least not in a sports watch. If you were talking about a Lange that came in PM only, then something else entirely.

Rolex nowadays are so well built even the DD40 is tough as nail! It's a great all rounder. The large 40mm case makes it looks v sporty n classy. Swimming n golfing n tennis no problem at all. GMT unless you need the time zones or SUB if you dive regularly.. otherwise get the DD40.

I would usually have said 3 SS were equivalent to one PM, particularly regarding prices, so 2 is really not enough, even if one is the D500.
