Help adjusting oyster bracelet

Hi everyone,

Trying to sort out my best option to resize my YM oyster bracelet. Currently I have the clasp adjustment on the 3rd position and the watch feels good on my wrist. The band is slightly loose, where I can slip one finger under the band. It is very comfortable.

With this configuration, the watch usually rides on the outside of my wrist off to the 12' side, not centered and the buckle is centered on the bottom of my wrist.

If I center the watch on the top of my wrist, the buckle is offset to the 12' side, by about 1mm.

I'd like the watch and bracelet to ride centered on my wrist, which needs a bracelet adjustment.

Side view looks longer on the 6' side than 12'.

I'm thinking about removing one link on the 6' side. Then I have two choices, (1) add the link to the 12' side and keep the buckle adjustment on the 2nd position, or (2) remove link and move buckle adjustment to the 1st position.

The links look to be 1mm and the difference between the 1st and 2nd position is 1/2mm.

I'm thinking I should add the link to the 12' side and continue to adjust the bracelet in 1/2mm increments.

Advice? Thanks

You can experiment by doing link swaps etc but frankly your talking about 1mm off center. Unless your going to tighten up the bracelet as a whole your watch will move around to different positions on your wrist all day long.

My advice is to relax and enjoy it. Don't obsess about 1mm.

I would swap a link.

I actually run 5 on the 6 side and 7 on the 12 side on my watch. This off-centers the clap the other way than what you're experience but I prefer this as it keeps the watch from rolling to the outside of my wrist and does a better job of keeping it tilted in toward me for easy ready.

Ideally I'd like to put the half link in on the 6 side and then just tighten up the Glidelock but I can't get the clasp screw out and haven't gotten to an AD yet to have them do it. Could probably just heat it up to loosen the loctite but I think I'll wait for an AD.

Anyway....I definitely prefer the long side being on the 12o'clock side, I think it sits better on the wrist that way.

I'm thinking you mean cm in each instance that you say mm.

For my 7.25" wrist, I find the best fit with 7 links at 12:00 and 5 links at 6:00, and then using micro-adjustment in the clasp to tailor it.

HORRIBLE fitting.

The watch is supposed to be centered not the crown.

What ratio do you have on each side? I am 6 x 4. if you had it 5 x 5 still 10 links, but off center.

Took it to an AD and showed the balance. He moved one link to the 12' side. Before I had 7 x 5, now adjusted 8 x 4 -- watch and bracelet sit more centered. When hanging, the watch and bracelet are even. Will run with it for a while; feels very comfortable. Yes, cm -- my bad:(

How the watch free hangs is irrelevant.

You adjust it for the best fit to you, and that is almost never equal, with, typically, fewer links on the 6 side than on the 12.

Since the watch head is heavy, in use, they frequently rotate to the outside regardless of how much fiddling you do.
