Rolex 6238 fitted with a 6239 bezel

Hi everyone,

I own a superb 6238 pre-daytona from 1965 with a really nice silver dial... (you just won't believe how I sourced it, a mad story ! )

My question is about the bezel. The watch was fitted with a 6239 bezel certainly decades ago, the result is great but I would like to source the correct one... do you think it may be possible ?

Thanks so much for your help :)

Ok

You won't believe it, but I found this watch... in a Flea Market !

The story is long, full of coincidences... but to make it short : I saw the watch not so early in the morning and DOZENS of people saw it before. As everyone, I thought that was a fake. Too light to be a Rolex, with this rivet bracelet !?!

I let the watch... and finally changed my mind and went back again to buy it. A guy hold it in hand for 10 minutes, and decided that was a fake. THANKS TO HIM !

When I bought it, the (professional) seller told me he went to an horologist, who didn't get the correct tool to open it. He bought himself the watch from the son of the first owner. At the end, he said "that's perhaps shit or not, but if it's the real deal, great for you !".

At this time, I was nearly sure it was a fake but I loved it...

Later in the day, I became more and more troubled to compare my watch on internet : research after research, and except the bezel, everything was ok with the 6238 and the 6635 bracelet... including the asymmetric pushers...

In the evening, back home, I opened the watch : you just can't understand how I felt when I saw this wonderfull Valjoux 72b, I didn't sleep at all this night.

This is my first Rolex, not too bad for a start, isn't it ?
