Blancpain Fifty fathoms "Black Knight"

Would you go for the Black knight DLC version or stay more true to the origanal in just plain old SS

I think it is beautiful. The bezel is a little hard to read but it is absolutely stunning and a macho black. I wonder what the asking price is. I also love the rose gold version. The polish they put on their cases is fabulous.

I think this is definitely worth buying in the DLC finish. I think the Diamond Like Carbon coating is going to be very rugged for everyday use. The closest thing that I could find about the price looked like it was $14,500. Definitely one to save up the pennies for.

I like it and I'll bet it looks better in person. Like Terry said the bezel is hard to read. The numbers are a little too subdued. Personally I would rather go for the SS model but this is a fine looking piece and it would fly a little more under the radar than the SS.

If I'm not mistaken, the bezel is luminous.

Great looking piece.

Bezal is made of sapphire crystal, and indeed is luminious just like the markers and hands, like the SS model, everythings been tinted to achieve the theme ,crystal/luminova/etc etc. Price seems almost cheap in comparision to other countries from what i can gather quoted £7240 less 10% here, downside availability is a real pain with only 3 ADs UK wide none close-by to myself and limited stock of even the SS model 1 available in the UK, availability of the 'black knight' 1st 1/4 2009 and euro boutiques seem reluctant to ship

Sensational, but so hard to get hold of. I recently called a Blancpain AD and was (curtly) told to "maybe call back next year". Ummm, OK...

I don't know what the FF production numbers are, but blancpain.ch states "a few hundred" per year...

Cheers

For those of you not liking the new shade of blue used on the Y/WG Sub (personally I love it), here is a rather scrumptious WG/blue Blancpain FF. Limited Edition of 50 pieces, price unknown but reckon on 'quite dear'...

It's no secret. I want a blue faced / blue bezeled sub.

My choices are...
Solid WG Sub ($22k)
Blue Fifty Fathom (50 made and who knows what price)
Vintage Tudor (which I know nothing about and would probable end up with a fake)

No good options, but I want a BP FF so now, if I could get that Blue one, two birds with one stone regarding my collection.

Now that would be a great collection
I am trying to find out the price of the FF blue (assuming it's not already sold out). After I have picked myself off the floor, I will let you know...

Cheers

If I had to guess at the price, I'd put it at 30-35k.

Its a nice looking watch.
But if the price is in that region?
It would be too much for me to justify.

Interestingly, Blancpain describe the blue as "cobalt" which is how many people describe the Sub "Bluesy" blue

Here's a pic of the Dark Knight/DLC model...

It is just a guess, but the retail on the SS BP FF regular production is $12000+ dollars.

This one is WG and limited to 50 pieces, special edition. Notice the rotor is in the shape of a diving mask. Pretty elite piece.

Agree 100000% Anytime there is a good looking blue diver, it is outrageously expensive or so rare (and expensive) that I can't get it.

...and for those with spotlessly clean hands, the all-white version

And for those who don't have to ask "how much?", the rose gold

The rose gold is a beauty.

Some of you may have read my thread on the "Biggest Loser" TV show and the watch placement on the personal trainers. It just keeps getting better and better. Spotted an 18kt GMT-IIC and an AP ROO in rose gold on a black rubber strap. Have to say I surprised myself with the reaction to the ROO. I have seen hundreds of pics of it and always thought the gold and rubber was kind of an absurd combo. Wrong. it looked absolutely great in the wrist shots. This FF in rose would be just as nice, and maybe even better if the chrono function wasn't required and better lume had some utility for you.
