Adding to a small collection
Hi all, I'm a new member here and still somewhat of a noob when it comes to the various models. I'm considering adding to my small collection and wanted to hear what y'all thought.
Currently own (and attached): 1967 #1675 Pepsi GMT 2008 #116710LN GMT II 2018 #116610LV Sub "Hulk" (just got it a week ago!!!) Considerations: #116400GV z-blue Milgauss- very unique and different. I work in the medical field and would be cool to have an "engineering" watch. #126334 Blue/fluted DJ 41- perhaps traditional/boring, but a more dressy watch to add to the sports collection. #116610LN Black Sub/Date- I'm not really into it because I have a black GMT II and the hulk, but would be interesting to fill out the submariner collection. Overall, I'm leaning to a Milgauss, but wondered what you guys thought! |

Of the ones mentioned, I think the DJ41 gives you something that you don't have - a bit more of a dress watch than the others.

Nice collection so far, if you’re set on adding another Rolex, for me it’s the DJ41, I wouldn’t give it a second thought.

I vote blue DJ41 - it would add some extra color to your collection and give you a dressier option.

Blue DJ41 if you wanna stick with a Rolex. An Omega Speedmaster would add a chronograph to your collection.

I’d say yes to the Milgauss, however I’d go with the black dial...

I really like the Milgauss but I think in this instance the DJ41 would be a great addition. Blue dial on either Oyster or Jubilee.

I would recommend DJ41 as you have a nice sport models only collection. Milgauss is different and unique. Unless you really like it, I would say pass. Since you are waging between 3 models, that tells me you are not fully convinced even though you are leaning towards it. What about Explorer I.?

I would keep on sport models. I would add an Explorer II with a white dial or the venerable SubC no date with a black dial.

The DJ would add a dressier piece to the line up. Love the Z-Blue too though.

It’s evident you like a bit of color, so,t has to be Milgauss.

Milgauss. Seems it is the most entertaining for you, out of the options you have.

DJ41 would be my pick. I like the idea of more color and no divers/GMT bezel. Of course, if it were my collection I’d be eyeing up something cleaner and simpler — the Explorer I. Hard to go wrong with any of the options in front of you. Let us know what you decide. Good luck!

I say go with your gut and get the Milgauss! It's a great watch and is very different from anything you have.
DJ41s are nice, but they're also not that exciting.

From your choices, nothing really blows me away, sorry.
And...from your description, it doesn't sound like it does you either. So, I would just cool it and wait and see what comes along that you fall in love with. Think about it in those terms, rather just "adding to the collection." |
