Patek - Quartz??

Today at my barber the gentleman next to me gets up to leave and pay as I notice his watch appears to be a PP. I compliment and ask to look at it on his wrist. He explains he wants to upgrade to the mechanical movement, leaving me perplexed. He says it’s a quartz... then tells me it is for sale if I would like it. Can anyone tell me more about when these were produced, what is current value of these?

Thanks all.

Patek is out of my league but a quick Google search does come back with a Quartz model and being sold at reputable locations.

The quartz is a 5064A-001 which should be (mid-size) 34mm if I recall. They usually sell for just under $10K US.

Wow, news to me. I knew that the women’s 24 was quartz, unaware of PP men’s quartz.

Amazing how these fakes can be made and sold for probably less than $100

I strongly believe it is a fake. If you look closely, the indices next to the date is horizontal and long. This is not the jumbo 5168. If it is the 5167, it should be thin and vertical.

Have you looked at the Chrono24 link posted above? It looks exactly like the watch pictured in the OP to my untrained eye.

This is the original. Compare the indice next to the date and you will know what I mean.

It's a Ref 5064... you've posted a picture of 5167, totally different pieces!

You are right. My mistake. Sorry. I saw a photo of 5064 without any indices next to the date and thought this thread was of 5167.

Patek has made quartz watches for men in the Aquanaut, Calatrava, Golden Ellipse and of course the famous Beta 21.

Of course, Patek makes quite a few women's quartz watches today including the Aquanaut, Nautilus, Calatrava, and the Twenty~4.

The Aquanaut photo OP posted looks genuine to me.

I agree only because i saw a sales lady in the Patek Salon wearing one. My wife was interested in an aquanaut at the time and she let us handle it. It was old (not a current collection piece) so i assumed it was her personal watch but it was quartz and looked exactly like the OP pic.

some guys are very eager to scream fake lol Patek Philippe did go through its quartz phase like most brands remember. This is likely a by-product of that era.
