Pp 5726/1a

Hi all,

AD just call and offer PP 5726 ( grey dial with bracelet)

Currently I have 5711 blue and 5990 in collection.

With 20% increase price for 5711 and 5712 in march, should i buy?

I have been offered retail price.

I don’t have any annual calendar in my collection and i’m thinking to add to the collection.

Thx.

Resale isn't good, if you can get 5-10% discount that would be ideal. But if your in this for the long haul and do not plan to sell it or flip it, by all means then go for it.

if you like it then buy it. Personally I would. Prices are going up eventually, thats a certainty. Sooner or later. A price rise even in a year will help the resale on that vs what you paid because it isnt as strong as some other models. If i got one i would keep it, so resale wouldn't even be a concern.

Thanks for the reply.

I will consider it.

I have been told from my AD that start from 2018, all nautilus & aquanaut will be selling at full price.

Thanks Tyler.

That is what I thinking now. With the price for 5712 up by 20%. The difference between this two reference only around 4 K USD. Is just matter of time PP will start to increase other reference model.

If you can afford to sit on it get it.
Even better, just keep it NOS and don’t wear it.

Get it if you really like it. I think there's a chance it may become more popular later since people can't get the 5711 and 5712.

Have you really seen that (too) many people wearing a 5711/1a or 5712/1a in the wild?

And, boring?

Only if you like it. Personally, if going with an AC, I'd do something dressier, like the 5396 or 5146.

Same here. I've contacted an AD in Chicago, Penn., and Oregon....and they ALL quoted me the same MSRP for the 5726 with leather strap. Absolutely no discounting; at least from AD's. Maybe grey market? It seems they're all convinced that ALL the Nautilus prices will be rising, not just the 5711 and 5712. I just ordered mine.

I'm not sure the AD's really know what is happening with the pricing. I was in two different Tiffany stores last week and both of the Patek specialists said they believed the increase was limited to the 5711 and 5712 and would not be across the entire Nautilus line.

Since HK it's probably Bagelsport not Nautilus. I'm just kidding. I suppose it depends on your demographic. Some areas of the US, cities are not as watch trendy as others. NYC for example, since automobiles are not a primary form of transportation people spend their income on watches for instance.

Don’t know where you live or hang out, but I live and hang out in nice places, but never seen any 5711-12 on someone, have seen a 5980-1R, and a 5980-1AR, but never one of the boring (according to you) ones...

I’ve only seen my own Patek’s in the wild. I’d call an AD the Zoo, and the GTGs a petting zoo!!

The 5726 was my first PP. I’m biased.

Good luck!

Quite crazy here in HK especially in financial and wealthy areas people wear pretty expensive timepieces/jewelry and probably have the most lambos and Ferrari’s in the world

can't be more than Knightsbridge in London, or especially Dubai. That place is nuts.

Never been to HK though, but dubai was car overload for me.

Its a GREAT watch! I wish I had an '11 in my collection. Have the 26 and 12. I don't think retail is awful as any nautilus right now is some mkts is desirable and IMHO its the best complicated nautilus from aesthetics and function.

Thx.
If your AD is in Singapore and you pass up on the watch, I am sure it will be sold in no time. SS Nautilus in major cities around the world go quickly, even the 5726/1A.

If you like the watch and want to build up a Nautilus collection, then the 5726 would be a nice addition. If you are looking at it as a pure financial speculation piece, then there is always a financial downside. Unless you have a good connection with a reseller, you need to consider at least a 15-20% loss if you want to unload it quickly. Depending on the currency exchange rate of the Singapore $ to other major currencies, it may be more or less.

Were you considering ordering one before you got the call, if yes then buy it, if no then pass.
