Fake Rolex Buckle.....again

Gentle reader,

This Ebay seller is selling fake Rolex buckles again:

This particular buckle is not SS, it is silver. The markings are incorrect.

As far as I can recall he has stung two of us here on the forum.

This one needs to go away.

...first, the crown appears to be the correct shape.

...second, the stampings on the reverse side are consistent with genuine stampings of the S/S-there were a few variants of this stamping around the globe.

...it would be impossible and unfair to ask someone at eBay to ASSUME that the buckle is silver as opposed to S/S.

...I would ask that someone from this forum message the seller thru eBay and ask for VERIFICATION that the metal content is S/S as opposed to silver. IF the metal used is actually silver, then the buckle would be a fakerooo (notwithstanding that the silver would be worth more $ than a S/S).

...these folks have a good track record, and to the best of my knowledge, they do not peddle counterfeit stuff. I have personally purchased watches, dials etc from them since they began with eBay and it was all 100% genuine.

If I did not have the same exact buckle from the same exact seller and know it to be a fake silver buckle then I would not have said so. This seller has duped me once; he will not do so to someone else if I can help it. This is a fact and I would stand by my statement in a court of law. The fake I am holding in my hand from this seller has the exact markings as the one in this auction.

May I also point out that his "Rolex" buckles have been the subject of previous fake buckle postings.

In the event Ebay references this thread in regards to this fake buckle I am adding the following information:

When I was ripped off by this seller I found this to be true of the fake buckle in my possession which is identical to the referenced auction:

1. it tarnished in just a few days

2. hardness test; hardness consistent with silver

3. chemical test; positive for silver

4. eyeballed crown with 16x loupe; crown soldered in place and slightly crooked

5. auction clearly stated stainless steel, not silver

If you read the auction carefully you will notice that the word "Rolex" never appears in the text, only the image. He only used the word "logo" when referencing the buckle.

Here is the response the fake buckle seller in "Santa Monica" sent me after I reported his deceptive auction to ebay twice:

iam a colegue from ebay who knows the buckles listed on the watch co 1974 vintage rolex produced , i purchased one took it to authorized rolex dealer in france where they told me it is genuine one , i suggest as a colegue to retract your inaccurate accusations reported to ebay and rolex usa , because iam happy to provide a letter proving they are genuine , pls kindly ask you to undrstand that have been in buisness since 1974 ,we are not haveing 1064 positives feedback , haveing no trouble with no one thks a lot

I do not think he really is from Santa Monica and he does not sound like his picture but I think I'll ask for the proof he offers.

It's still a silver buckle, not stainless steel. It's not magnetic; SS is.
