Questions on Bulk Rolex Order

Long story short, I'm considering at buying 7 of either the WG Oysterflex Daytona (ref. 116519LN) or the WG blue Submariner (ref. 116619LB) (and no, they wouldn't all be for me...). The first question I had was on pricing - it seems like 20% on PM models is fairly standard, but do you think it would be reasonable to shoot for more given the quantity that I'm buying? Also, I've wanted the SS Daytonas for quite a while and think it would be reasonable to ask to get both a white and black dial within a reasonably short timeframe (a few months). I haven't yet discussed this with the AD, but they know that I want a Daytona and said that an order like this would "move me higher on the list." This sort of response shocked me a bit -- I feel like asking for both, let alone just one, in this scenario isn't that ridiculous, but I wanted to hear what you all thought. Thanks!

EDIT: They don't have these in stock, but said they could order pretty easily with delivery in ~2 months.

I think you could get 7 of them at 20% off and both 116500 at retail from many AD.

Go in person and put your credit card on the table for the sum. You will have your watches soon.

I know I could get it done.

I would think if you were buying 7 PM models you should be able to get 25-30 percent off no problem and the next ss Daytona they get in. if you settled for 20% off they better have both ss Daytona’s waiting at pickup same day as the other 7.

I'd be surprised that a single AD would have that kind of stock to sell, even in PM. If you bought 7 PM models at one time I'd expect more than 20%. Keep in mind they paid ~60% for them and generally they are not fast movers. They have more to give, especially if you took your purchase to a competing AD. But I think you will run into the 'not enough stock' problem if you want to buy all these from a single AD. You might have to be patient.

No doubt at my AD it would facilitate a much much better deal.

I would call around other ADs as well and see what business they have to offer. With this deal they should be coming to you.

It depends where you are. Markets like NYC, LA, and etc. ADs have clients who buy 6+ watches a year. If it was a small market area, I am sure things would move much quicker.

I think a good AD can come up with the seven of your choice at 30% off. I think it’s a reasonable request to get both SS Daytona’s at MSRP. If you have trouble making it happen at those numbers, send me a PM and I’ll give you the name of an AD that’ll do it.

I must be talking to the wrong ADs if 20% off PM is a normal discount lol......here I thought 10-15% is normal/good with a relation.

If I were buying those watches at once, I would expect 30% off and both Daytona's at MSRP.

There is a volume discount for sure my friend. OP wants 7 PM watches at once

At least up here that is fair. Maybe not in SoCal.

Thanks for the responses thus far. I think I'm going to ask for 25% and the two SS Daytonas at MSRP, although I'm not confident I'll get that given how they acted today. If anyone has suggestions for other ADs, feel free to PM me.

Just out of curiosity is the 116519LN on oysterflex a watch AD's can just order and expect to get 7 of? Smurf I realise should never be an issue.

I would say 35% off lists plus both daytona's at retail. They should be able to arrange it. If not, I would go to a grey dealer that could do that for you.

Don't count on an AD working for 3% on the PM's. Also I wouldn't count on the 116500's any time soon either as my guess is you will be sorely disappointed.

yeah... the AD's still need to make money. IMO a maximum of 20% on one or 20% on 10 is reasonable. The bulk advantage lies in the access to hard to get pieces that will surely follow compared if you were not a big customer.

Are ADs even giving significant discounts (i.e. the standard PM discount) on the WG Oysterflex Daytona? I know they're still in high demand from ADs around the world, many don't have them in display cases and are maintaining waitlists for them. That would lead me to believe the AD can't just wave a wand and get 7 in one whack.

One AD that I talked to that normally gives pretty good discounts on PM refused to discount on either the YG or WG Oysterflex Daytonas when I asked.

Smurf is a different story - I'd expect 30% off for those.

in london you would be lucky with 5% on a OF daytona. US seems like its a bit easier but i doubt most could get a big discount.

I just dont think buying more necessarily ensures a bigger discount. The same discount on 1 is reasonable to expect on multiples as they sell well vs full bracelet models.

I have heard of 22% off on the WG Daytona but this individual is a super-duper VVVVVIP. For a pleb like me, I was offered a big fat zero percent discount on that model at the 3 ADs I inquired with in Toronto.

20% is the standard discount on PM watches at most AD's if you have a history and are going to buy. For 7 watches I would think that 22-25% would be reasonable and they could take a white and black face Daytona out of the safe and sell them to you at retail. I would not go on a list for the Daytona's and I would make my purchase on the condition that the Daytona's are delivered at the same time as the PM watches. This is a transaction that could be put together.

A few have suggested asking grey dealers to do this. I'm sure they could get me a good deal on the OF Daytonas, but would they really sell me two SS Daytonas at retail? It seems like they'd be giving up ~$14k in profit between the two.

No chance of discount on Oysterflex Daytonas in the NYC area, no matter how many you're buying. These aren't out on display and have waiting list - not as bad as SS, but still very much in demand.

20% off and an SS at list "tomorrow" sounds like a great deal to me (assuming no taxes).

I doubt even Wynn can fill 7 WG OF watches at once.

Sounds about right and if you buy 14 watches you get 70% off.

I think the dealer pays 63% of retail these days (up from 60% a few years ago). A discount should take that into account. I can't imagine a 35% discount, with the dealer making 2%.

If an AD offered me 20% discount for buying 7 PM's I would literally laugh in their face and walk out.

you are getting a bigger discount margin than their profit margin at 20%. So even then, you are coming out more ahead than them. Your overhead costs are zero too.

The OF daytona is also very popular and they dont need help with moving those currently.
