Welcome Tay'Prince!

Rolex makes several gold watches. Are you a sport watch or dress watch guy?

Hmm, Dressy in Gold. You need the classic Day Date.

To the left....

Yume has amazing taste, and a truly enviable collection.

Add a GMT IIc SS and I think it would absolutely ideal. Maybe even my grail collection!

Its gotta be the classic day-date, the only oyster made exclusively in gold or platinum.

Luckily I'm not senile enough yet to forget which day of the week it is, so I still prefer the Datejust in all gold

Me too! I never warmed up to the day of the week function of the DD. If I had the funds I'd get a WG DJ or YG YM.

Not to rip, but looking at this photo, the following jumps out at me:

The Omega (bracelet, dial, hands, bezel) appears to be of vastly inferior quality. The Rolex, by comparison, is so solid looking as if it was hewn from a solid chunk of industrial grade steel.

Not really, they are in the same quality category, now a TAG, thats inferior.

Vastly inferior would be a Rolex movement compared to that of a Patek Phillippe.

If you're into brilliants, the solid 18k Submariner with a diamond bezel really stands out.

It's a good time to buy!

The only drawback on the DayDate is the size Tay. Our generation (I'm 28) seems to prefer a bigger casing. As you can see from the photos above, the DD is somewhat dwarfed by the sports models and looks even smaller on the wrist, which is why i'm currently in the market for this...

I'm with Chozn on this one, even tho Tay said he didn't want a sports watch. I suggest the YG GMT IIc "anniversary" edition with the green dial. Marky Mark Wahlberg wears one and he's under 40. It's a watch you can dress up or dress down.

How about someone shooting Tay a price list . . . that would have all the models in it.

Mr. Wahlberg rocks it nicely, I agree

I agree. I own a Seamaster Pro, too, and in all honesty, the Omega is of higher quality. The Seamaster is a solid feeling watch in every respect. It's heavy, yet very polished and the fit of the parts could not be better. I want to say where the Rolex seems to be made of stamped steel, the SMP seems milled. As an amature, I don't know if this is really the case. On the case back there's a finely wrought seahorse where my Rolex is bare. The bracelet on the SMP is almost like fabric the way it covers my wrist. I have to add also that my Rolex and Omega keep exactly the same time: +6. Now the Rolex brand however, is much more respected. I prefer it since it uses it's own movements and is independent of the Swatch group.
