confirming AD suggestion - R series datejust

all,

need a little help please. i was visiting one of the ADs in the area. he asked about my R series datejust as he knew i was looking for a jubilee bracelet for it. i have not found one in the condition i want. he offered a suggestion and i wanted to see if anyone here can confirm rolex USA will do this:

he said to simply give the rolex service center a call, tell them i will be sending a datejust in for service, but i would also like an authentic rolex jubilee bracelet placed on the watch. he said it should not be an issue.

just trying to see what you all thought about this. has anyone sent in just a "head" of the watch without bracelet?

i am sure this option, if they are willing to do it, will not be in-expensive, but i would like to get the watch back on a rolex jubilee bracelet.

thanks all, i appreciate any info!

mike

Hi Mike. I have done this in the past with pre-loved watches, sent head only to RSC Dallas and asked for strap or bracelet; no problems at all. Pricey but worth every penny.

You can certainly do that, although if you keep the original bracelet on it they will give you credit..

I don't think it makes sense to save a worn out bracelet unless it is a very desireable and unobtainable piece...

Spending 1,000 to 2,000 on a bracelet for a 2 - 3,000 dollar watch would make it a keeper for sure...

Why not send it with the old bracelet? They will give you a trade in allowance so the new bracelet won't be as expensive as if buying one without.

Why not purchase a replacement jubilee bracelet (rolex of course!) on ebay and swap your clasp and endlinks

thanks again guys,

watch was purchased from an estate. no bracelet with it.

it has been on a shark strap or aftermarket "president" style bracelet for a while now. so that is the reason i was asking if i were able to just send the watch head by itself.

thank you for the suggestions!
