Rolex: the seconds hand movement
Hi, I just bought a rolex oyster perpetual recently and I notice it takes the seconds hand to rotate two rounds before the minute hand will move 1 minute. Is that right? Any info welcome. Many thanks.
My apologies, it is actually taking 1 round to move the minute hand by 1 minute. I counted it wrong because the change did not happen at exactly 12. I wonder if there is anyway to make it to move to the next minute on the 12o'clock marker |

Not really clear what you are asking? You mean the second hand makes 2 revolutions around the dial, 120 seconds, to advance the minute hand one minute? If that is so, something is really wrong with the watch or your watch is a fake.

If the second hand turns two revolutions for the minute hand to move one minute, then this isn't correct at all.
Where did you buy it? Grey dealer or AD? If AD take it back under warranty & if from a grey it should still have a warranty. How long have you had it? Has the watch received any shocks lately?

Thanks leopardprey, pls note my edit.
Yeah, i thought it took 2 revolutions to move 1 minute, but on closer observation, i think the minute hand did not advance on 12'clock mark but on 20min past spot. Hence the confusion. |

Pull out the crown when the second hand is at 12. This will stop the second hand. Then carefully reset your minute hand to get it to line up on the minute marker of your choice. This may take awhile to get right, as Rolex hands are finicky, and when you push the crown back in the Minute hand can jump a bit.
Once you have them lined up right, see how it works. The minute hand moves in a gradual pace over 60 seconds, does not advance from one minute to the next, unless you have a Quartz watch. If you are still 20 seconds off, I would take back to the AD or RSC to have it adjusted. |

This thread has me really confused.
I thought people in Australia looked down on Foster's.
