Collecting SD from 1st service
Hello -
I'm collecting my 2009 16600 SD from its 1st service tomorrow, from my local AD. This is the first time I've sent any of my Rolex in for service. I'd just like to check please: 1. I've been charged £500 for the service. The AD offered to hold the pre-increase price for me as I took it in just before end-Jan. Can anyone confirm if £500 is the SD service cost pre-increase? 2. What if anything should the watch come with when returned from service? Should it come with green suede pouch / plastic coffin, 2-yr warranty guarantee, and a detailed breakdown of the work carried out? The pouch / coffin would be handy for storage. Thanks all. |

I take it that this is a RSC service.
If so that cost looks about right. You should have been given a quote with a price breakdown for the work that was required or recommended during the evaluation. Mine came back in the plastic 'coffin' but no pouch. I think the 2 year warranty is standard?

Yes, the 2 year International Service Warranty is standard.
The watch will more than likely be returned in the Green suede pouch as that's standard as well. Even my DSSD came in one after service. Assuming the watch is being serviced at RSC, you should have had an appraisal for the watch from them prior to giving the go ahead on the work outlined. Cost included. The appraisal would've had anything not covered in a standard service outlined and itemised. |

Sent my Sub for a service at RSC in July 2017....price was £495, watch came back beautiful.....didn’t come with a green pouch, returned in the AD own wee suade pouch... I didn’t received a run down of what the service involved when it was returned....I also received a green plastic card with the watches serial number on it which is the 2 year warranty card.

My GMT2 16710 was serviced late last year in the US at an official RSC. Green pouch included. $700 for the basic service which is in line with £500.

Great, thanks all for the helpful feedback! I didn't get a breakdown beforehand (yes, from RSC, St James), as I agreed with the AD that I was happy not to need to confirm the work needed beforehand (if only a standard service was required). Despite being 9 years old, I have babied it over those years, and it was pretty pristine.
I didn't think I'd miss it, having 5 other watches and not wearing it that much, but I'm looking forward to getting it back. I actually think I might require some convincing to wear it again, given how pristine it will be. But, we shall see ... |

Got my DD back after a service. Movement service cost is right about there. Before starting work, RSC emailed me a PDF detailing what needed to be done and just needed my reply to proceed.
After 3 weeks I got a watch that looked like it was just purchased, the leather pouch, polishing cloth, service booklet, 2 year guarantee card and a Rolex magazine. Sent from my HTC_2Q4D100 using Tapatalk |
